i am a westerner, and i have a real difficulty to understand the Guru-disciple relationship. Other than that, i really love Gautam's teachings .❤ 🙏

Guru is the one who sheds light on darkness so that the disciple matures and learns. All of the eastern religions expound the need for a Guru - it is as simple as a GPS while navigating unfamiliar terrain. When the quest for truth in an individual is heightened and creates enough heat then the inner divinity within us melts and takes the form of an outer guru who guides the disciple on the right path but cannot walk the path for the individual. A true guru does not want any part of the happiness or success of the disciple but truly stands behind to uplift. Hari Om!
