It's me, I sold that to you! I'm glad that you're so pleased with him. I really like him too, but I'm the sort that needs every figure to have a "place" and I tried for years to work him into my collection. Finally I had to admit it just wasn't happening and move him on. Great to see he's in his new home! A slight correction on the stickers, I've been told they were released, but as a sort of "added value" for the 2014 custom class (Primal Prime from the Cybertron Jungle Planet Optimus mold). Extras were handed out upon request. Either way there were definitely fewer stickers than there were Megatrons, so it's a cool bonus to have them!

I adore the idea this set poses of Megatron having Scalpel and his other assorted arms microns/targetmasters as part of his personal cabal of "most trusted individuals" alongside Soundwave and Shockwave. Having some of his closest allies be literally the weapons by his side feels like a very "Megatron" thing in general, but considering Scalpel in particular is the one who brought him back to life and orchestrated his surgeries without once thinking of just screwing with anything in his brain, there must be some more personal respect there despite him being so tiny and seemingly ineffectual on a Cybertronian scale.

He was that small on purpose. Most of the Transformers are supersized compared to us, but there is one thing that stays the same with us as well as they are and always have been. Someone or something with hands or implements in the same size as we are is needed for all work on them. This is across the board of each machine from electrical to it's Motherboard and all connecting circuitry.

Scalpel meanwhile is someone he trusts in a form of leadership when it comes to things like extracting information.

The lore about him warping behind Optimus then killing him really proves that Optimus made the right choice in taking his head off. Though it is funny, there are three different outcomes for DOTM. The movie as we know it, the novel which says that Megatron's truce was real, and he went back to Cybetron, and here in the package bio, with him killing Prime, leaving Hot Rod to make an early appearance!

I think I’ve said this before but I love obscure character designs, obscure characters and repaints. Because they’re unique it makes me able to make up stories or learn more about them. I wish that would happen more in transformers

Hey, I have this guy! I got mine at TFCon last year for about the same price. He's interesting both historically as the first use of that mold in the US but also canonically having been plucked from his universe after offlining Prime in DOTM. He's very unique and a great find!

Fun fact: in one manga the role of this toy was basically given to hunter Ratchet aka Japanese green beast hunters Ratchet. Kinda funny how they've basically made 2 "old man Megatron" from the prime toys

I’ve been into funpub since I turned 6, I remember seeing the story for this guy years later. didn’t attend BotCon but I love it cuz I’m one of the movie expansion supporters. BUT, This is the strangest thing to me. It is now the most desired thing out of this set, yet all the “BotCon purists” or “hardcore fans” hate on this use for fairly obvious reasons which in my opinion makes NO SENSE.

A few years ago before lockdown world, hit this figure was going for $40 used, I'm not gonna pay the current prices or hype it up despite it being an exclusive partly because I'm very upset didn't get around to getting one to customize into a g2 megatron color scheme partly because I never got around to getting one for the normal sake due to life stuff, mainly due to the fact i do not want to give transformers scalpers an excuse to bump up the price from 100 something to 500 like they've been doing for every other transformers figure from the last 10 years or so. I'm glad you got one though, great figure. I should probably review that transparent test shot thrilling 30 rhinox I got for like 120 one of a few years back when it was somehow cheaper to get then the normal thrilling 30 rhinox for a brief bit of time due to Kingdom rhinox being so bad scalpers decided to hawk the last figure of the character lmao. Stuff like thats normally wayyy out of my price range but I looked at the prices people were charging for normal rhinox figures at the time (150) and thought "if I'm gonna own a rhinox it's gonna be this one because it's actually worth that weirdly high price due to it literally being a copy made to check tolerances.
