I know that it's been 5 years, but thank you for this tutorial. I'm 17, and I just bought my first electric guitar and this is the first song I'm learning. I appreciate you a lot man.

@@wihur Dude I love that and you are very welcome. I make zero money from this channel because I don't have enough watch hours and it's just not big enough. I don't really put any effort into it like I should. With that said, messages like this is really why I made these videos to begin with. I just want to spread knowledge and hope to inspire new players and allow them to learn some of the stuff. I'm currently driving home from a show in which we sold out 600 tickets to and I'm kind of on a cloud. This message made my night and someone said to me a long time ago "never stop playing". I never did and I'm now 51. I play in a Pink Floyd tribute band but I'm really a metal head. Never stop playing my friend. You'll just keep getting better and better and better if you put the work in.

I'm new to Weezer and this song stuck out to me while listening to the album for the first time. Doesn't seem too hard to play too.

This whole album is amazing. Such an iconic piece. Their stuff isn't too hard but it's a little harder to pull it off like they do then one would originally anticipate. The record progressions in the way they use distortion with the different instruments together create the wall of sound that you hear that comes from them which is extremely tasteful all many levels.

Just want to note that when they play their power chords with the bass starting on the 2nd string, they also fret the bottom low E String to add an extra bass note! That's how they get that chunky guitar tone besides using neck pickups and what not

What guitar is that? Looks beautiful!

Its a 1997 Fender Stratocaster Big Apple. It's the Fat Strat of its day with the two humbuckers, but this model came with upgraded Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pick ups from Fender. It's such a neutral guitar. Plays all styles effortlessly.

Excellent!! Use any pedals for this or just the amps OD?
@ryanguitargodfrey4 жыл бұрын
No I'm not using any special pedals for the sound. I have a line 6 vetta 2 dual cab. No joke it's as loud as my Marshall cab. However sometimes I like to sit it on top of my Marshall half stack so I can get six speakers going and rock my neighbors. I play in a Pink Floyd tribute band but I'm really a metal head at heart. I can pretty much dial up any sound from an old 60s fender to a Messaboogie distortion. Very versatile amp. I honestly don't remember the amp cab model for this video. 😎

What do you have for your amp
@ryanguitargodfrey9 ай бұрын
In this particular video I'm playing my old line 6 vetta 2 cab. I have a few different amps, but the distortion in this video is coming from an old line 6 vetta 2 cab.

I think pretty much most of that album isn't e flat. I have mentioned that in my other videos. Am I not tuned to e-flat in this video? If I'm not it was a mistake on my part.

Ryan Guitar Godfrey im tuned eflat and it doesnt match the track or your video so maybe its supposed to be standard.
@ryanguitargodfrey4 жыл бұрын
I do know that some of them are in E and some of them are in E flat I just can't remember which ones so I guess this is one of them that is in E. I usually do check the tuning to the song before I make the video.
