NO ONE has done this in 30 years

Tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Oilers captain Connor McDavid did something that only 3 players have done in the last century. Thats right, just the 3rd player in 100 YEARS and the first last 30 years. He scored 2 goals in 5 consecutive games as his streak looks to continue on Friday against the Winnipeg Jets. This was a dominant game by the Edmonton Oilers that saw a rare Ryan Nugent-Hopkins fight as he took on Justin Holl in an unlikely battle, 2 goals from McDavid and an odd Maple Leafs goal that everyone but Marner and Kampf though was off side. This era of nhl is arguably easier to score than the last 20-30 or so years. If it was so easy to score back then, then everyone else would also have 160+ point seasons... Yet Gretzky was basically doubling the second highest point scorer for years. Even his linemates weren't even close to his point production. Mcdavid would have to break 200 and his linemates and rest of league be at the 100 range just to give people a taste of what one Gretzky year was like. Let alone a career.

I was just at this game! You'll notice me, the big bearded guy jumping to the left of the Maple Leafs goal for that second one from McDavid. The Nuge fight was surprising but awesome and we had the perfect view (some nasty uppercuts actually landed)! Gotta love witnessing career numbers from Connor, it's even more awe inspiring to see the best player in the world that close! Keep up the solid hockey reporting!

Refs tried so hard to give this game to the leaf's as well. 2 oiler goals disallowed, one blatantly a terrible call, puck rebounds off of goalies pad and ref immediately blows the play dead??? And a leafs goal that looked pretty offside, but oilers should have played to the whistle there, that one is Edmonton's fault.

Not gonna lie man, I watch your videos and enjoy them. But when you say shit like you do on that TJ Brodie play….it just makes me assume you never actually played hockey yourself. On a 2-1 that’s a go-to defensive move to cut off the seam pass and hope your goalie has the advantage of angles. I’m a Wings/Oilers fan and I’m still here saying he did the right thing in that situation.

@@chocomilkfps1264 Nah bruh, I paid attention far better than you had if you don’t see that….Pause the video at @1:46 then @1:47 . Brodie was caught flat footed because he was never meant to cover Mcloed in the first place. That was Kampfs guy to cover in that particular situation. Brodie ended up having to cover 2 guys going at 2 very different speeds on zone entrance, so he decided to take up as much space as he could at that particular angle. You’re watching it from this single-angle view. Mcloed had enough speed that he would’ve thrown off Skinners positioning by barreling in that fast and so Brodie made the assumption he wouldn’t make the pass that late as Skinner most likely would be to deep in his net at that point for a pass to work. Basically it’s pretty obvious he though Mcloed would actually shoot in this particular situation but he was too flat footed already by timing his movement for Kostin. It’s really not that ridiculous of a play, or a hard concept to understand.

You guys are missing one glaring statistic this narrator never pick out. Yes, his goals are right up there with The Great One but one thing he'll fall well short of is assist. Go back and look, McDavid's assists compared to Wayne's says a story you kids might expereince soon in the playoff this year. ALL teams will shut down McDavid at ALL cost in the playoffs, until The Oilers arn't a one trick pony then I might give them a chance.
