The problem with 6-ya is that it has one really obvious dominant advantage - air denial. Using the Mig-31 and BUK just totally shuts down airplay (at a high cost). But this map isn't an airspam map, and until later into the game blue didn't even spam planes. So sometimes the winning move is just not to airspam against a div that dominate airspammer... 6-ya could be good on like Rocks Assault, Cyrus or Twin Cities where there's a huge amount of space to cover and you can't buy shorter range AA to every position. But it just doesn't really make sense as a pick on this map.

I still think the only reason Pact divs are suffering is people just not playing them right. Opening with mass non-forward-deployed 7 man IFV infantry in trucks, so their trait is negated and they have no fire support, is wrong for multiple reasons IMO.

If you don't do that at the start, the enemy takes the positions immediately with his wheeled / FD infantry

@@hippiehippiehippiehippie they get there slower than recon units or helicopters would, and there are options with armored wheeled transports with KPVTs that'd get there at the same time. I rewatched the start and he actually put one or two of each of those down in the opener, so it's not like he didn't have them, he was just saving his other Spetsgruppa A for later and wasting their forward deployment I guess. You keep complaining about Pact infantry being bad but especially with IFV infantry they're not meant to fight without their transports supporting them, the transport evens things out against bigger squads that can only get truck or APC transports, if you bring them in trucks you're choosing to nerf yourself and you can't blame the game balance for that.
