JJ McCarthy is maturing into his role him, I'm good with he just needs to be less gunslinger more dual-threat. As far as the defense is concerned they're doing okay, I like to see more blitzes or at least line pressure, quarterback dumps - or more spy pressure because they show the look, it doesn't matter, cover 2, cover 3 - Michigan has the defensive talent to pull it off

I am a Michigan fan and I'd say your laying on the hype way too thick for this early in the season. Compared to last year I'm not that impressed with this team yet. We're not sacking the quarterbacks like we were last year and the running game is not at the level it was at last year. McCarthy killed Michigan with his interceptions during the TCU game last year and he's back at it. They've got to play better just to get past Penn State and Ohio State.

OSU will be the rival game of the season; as usual. They have more than a triple threat offense. Just dangerously talented. Defense is super strong and Jim is an amazing coach. I gotta agree with Klatt. The one team that can beat Michigan is Michigan. JJ’s turnovers are concerning because those are game changers and can negate an otherwise dominating performance - as happened against TCU. He needs to be better with his decision making and risk taking. And the team needs to get better as the season goes on, along with avoiding injuries to key players - like the loss of Corum last season. A lot can go wrong but I do believe they are capable of getting it right.

That was a very respectful analysis of Michigan. I agree they really are that good. But I don’t think we have seen them play their best football yet this year. As well as they have played, they have the talent and coaching to completely dominate! The defense is outstanding! But no doubt we could score more then we are scoring now. The run game has not been as dominant so far this year but I’m confident they are going to break open some games yet! As for a National Championship we shall see! They are capable of it no doubt. I'm a 49ers fan, so I was not happy to see Michigan steal our head coach, but now we have a head coach who's even better. On the other side of the coin there are several Michigan players who are now 49ers, and our latest 2 draft picks, Moody and Bell, have been playing great so far. I was at the Michigan Florida citrus bowl in 2015. Orlando soccer field and trick plays. I never liked seeing a top 10 division 1 football program have to resort to fake field goals and double reverses that never worked. But Florida had to try something from being routed on national television!!! Lol😂

Just last past years, I think Harbaugh learned from past years in letting too much show early on film ie 2016 and 2019. He’s playing things close to the chest, doesn’t care for flash until it’s time; then, everyone freaks out. Wolverines are playing strong and clean, perhaps even more importantly: consistently… even with them Bowling Green giggle nonsense. JJ has learned, Corum has more power, they haven’t really unleashed Edwards, yet… he’s almost there, again; oh, and Mullings is another Haskins in the making. Defense is ridiculous, o-line is the only worry for me.

It’s hard to repeat and get back to the finals. That alone works against them. My guess is they will get upset somewhere along the line - OSU, Penn State, Maryland, etc. 1, possibly 2, upsets.

@notsauer Umm. Georgia and Alabama never met up in the playoffs, bruh. Ohio St. and Georgia did, and it was one helluva game. If the playoff games were reversed and Ohio State played TCU, we would have beat them. Especially if we played TCU the same way we played Georgia! So then the national championship game would have been Ohio State and Georgia. Therefore, the Ohio State Georgia game was the true National Championship game. You know, as well as everyone else, the loss to that team up north was a fluke game. It happens to every team, just like Bitchagain and TCU. That was a fluke game. I was rooting for them, so it would've been a B1G National Championship game AND our chance to get revenge for the fluke L they handed us and prove we are the better team. Hell, if we had played Bitchagain like we played Georgia, we would've won that game, and that's why it was a fluke L! And had we won that game we would've played TCU in the playoffs and Bitchagain would've played Georgia getting crushed worse then they did by TCU and AGAIN the National Championship game would've been Ohio State and Georgia! 🎤 drop. Quarterback stats are overrated.If the QB throws a 7 yard pass,but the receiver runs it for 30 yards,the QB gets credit for the 30yds.If you deducted run after catch yards,QB stats wouldn't be so inflated.I'm not saying J.J. McCarthy isn't a great field general,not to mention a great scrambler,I just feel passing stats are overrated.
