Coffee is one of the great pleasures of life and I am pleased that you Brent enjoy it. What a great pleasurable reward to stop working on something difficult in bad weather and have a coffee break. Having that cookie while precariously filling the hydraulic reservoir in the catacomb equipment room demonstrates the true grit you and Brent have. KUDOS!

Taylor-first of all I hope you and Brent had a great Christmas and enjoyed the time off with your families. I absolutely love coming along with you and Brent on your days. Thank you for showing us about dairy farming. I owe you a big thanks I went to your bonfire store and got inspired and started my own bonfire store. I’m a graphic artists and thought what a cool thing to be able to put my art out there for people to enjoy and it’s already started to re-profits so thank you so much.

JP-8 ( jet propulsion ) fuel is basically a very refined kerosene witch has anti-icing properties . A small amount in the tractor’s fuel tank prevents fuel jelling .

The extreme cold brings out the worst in machinery. The two of you work so well together and the cows are very well taken care of. May you have the best and warm holidays.

Hi Taylor, we dairy in Utah at high altitude. We find that even with winter diesel fuel that we get 20-50 % # 1 fuel added to it to prevent gelling. Colder temps, more # 1 which is basically kerosene. We have a lot of equipment that needs to run . We use block heaters on everything. We have them wired to thermostats so if not cold they don’t run but everything plugged in every night from November to March. You guys could use a coffee pot timer to turn it on a couple of hours before you need it to conserve power. Good luck with the struggle of winter and merry Christmas.

Kero works u may not get the mileage per day but beats freezing and changing filters in winter. And re priming
@StanFinckКүн бұрын
Hey Taylor try putting a block heater on your Kubota. Is a frost plug on left side of engine block you knock out and put your heater in. Just drain block first. Or go to bottom radiator hose and put an inline heater in, also drain block first. Save anti freeze orreplace if old. As handy as you are am sure you could get that one in for sure will really help. Good luck, stay warm. Ia.

Thanks for keeping the recorder going through all the trials and tribulations. Glad you reported on the birthing of the calves. You have had a string of bulls, haven't you? You can always depend the cold making everything take twice to 3 time as long as normal. I had a snow plow that wouldn't work and it seemed to defy any action I took! Hope Christmas was Joyful and Heartwarming for you. All the best for the new year!!

I have a kerosene heater like that one, 110,000 BTU and I used it to heat my 600 sq.ft. workshop. I aimed it at the brick wall and ran it for a while then shut it off and the wall radiated heat for the rest of the morning. It wasn't anywhere as cold as you have it but it worked so well I didn't have to run it again during the day. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and that you and Your have a Happy New Year, jack

Good morning Tay 🥶 I’m glad you’re staying warm. It’s been bitter cold down here the last week or so only gonna be in the mid 20s today again the little calf is very cute. It’s not a day on a dairy farm without a breakdown or something going awry lol Merry Christmas to you and your family and Brent. Another great video. We used to have a coffee pot in the milk house ourselves. Gotta have it specially this time of year lol I’m a big fan of Green Mountain coffee myself. Glad you got the Kubota running diesel tractors don’t like the cold weather, lol Stay warm and safe, sweetheart.🤗

Well Taylor, I hope you and Brent had a nice Christmas. Love your coffee pot. And yes, your tractoer problem seemed to only be water freezing in your fuel ine entrance. Question: Is it stressful for the calves and their mothers when you sell the calves off so quickly.? I have noticed on some beef channel stations I watch that they strive to keep the calves with their mothers for at least a couple of months.
