Too be honest the whole thing was a shambles, out of step, total apathy, no pride or enthusiasm in what they were doing. They looked like men just totally fed up. I have been on many a parade in the 22years I served and would have been ashamed to be part of what I watched on here.

@@jpadan2172 the horses do perfectly well and have extremely pampered lives. After they retire they’re looked after for the rest of their lives and turned out to run around in green fields, brought in a night and are mollycoddled. My daughter owned horses for many years so I know how well looked after these horses are. They get the very best and their guardsmen form a very close bond and trust with each other.

They are only on guard for an hour and the horses are checked regularly to see they are not stressed or unwell and their bridles and tack and saddles are checked for safety and not harming the horses The horses also go on holiday on beaches in Norfolk

I was waiting for the flash mob to appear. They may have looked very smart but they weren’t standing in a straight line - even given that there is a set of stones to mark a line. And more than one of them was talking to his mate while the inspection was going on.

Rubbish. The line was perfectly straight, and not one of the men said a word during the inspection, other than the NCO speaking to the officer. A Life Guard, or indeed any soldier, would be put on a charge if talking in the ranks during an inspection. You're a liar.

Right in front of not just the public but the guard commander and the inspecting officer. Genuinely unbelievable, but it was just treated as normal. ... and some here are saying how proud they are, supreme discipline, no-one does this better than UK, etc - I'm ashamed. It's like saying the NHS leads the world.

I'm English through and through and a Royalist. But I found this to be disappointing! The guards could not even stand in a staight line. I thought the guards where supposed to be of uniform height, they were not. Plus their uniforms were not the best! Some heads were not held high and eyes front, one guard was nearly looking at the ground. At least one guard was not wearing his helmet correctly. Standards have dropped sadly. Are my expectaions too high? Or have the British public standards/expectations dropped! But it's been 60 years since I saw it in person.

If we're talking about people just going through the motions, then yeah, they did well. This is supposed to be the Royal Military though. The guard nearest us was talking, the line formation was crooked, and their sheathing of the swords was awful. Yes, it's a lot of show, but it's also the military. It's supposed to be exact.

What a shoddy performance that was. When the seven Guards men first appeared, even in single file formation, they couldn't march in step! Then when they were ordered to 'Right dress', even with the aid of a straight edge cobble stone, they couldn't line up in a straight line. Throughout the inspection, trooper 5 seemed to have his eyes and head in a downward cast posiiton, instead of head up, shoulders back! Twinkle toes, the 6th from camera position, was about 6" behind the rest of this motley crew. Then when they were ordered to sheath swords, the 5th/6th (?) pre-empted the order, jumping the gun before quickly retrieving the position. Without exception, when marching they all seemed to be 'Round Shouldered' and poor in posture. Not at all as it used to be! Standards, WHAT Standards ? Something has been lost!

The only thing I wasn't expecting was to be quite so disappointed by the absolute shower of sh1t on parade doing public duties. 1. The police were as scruffy as they come, chewing gum. 2. The guard couldn't even keep in step for a few paces - they didn't march out, they just shambled. 3. Even after they right dressed, they still weren't in line although there's a line on the ground. 4. The 5th trooper in the guard never took his eyes off the ground, even when he was being inspected. 5. To cap it all, beyond anything I've ever seen (and I'm far from a drill pig) the first two troopers started having a chat while the inspection was still going on. Just unbelievable. The female troopers look ridiculous doing public duties, but that's all part of "equality and inclusion", but there's just no excuse for public duties being in absolute bad order like this.

@@hb1338 Plenty of others manage it perfectly well - the boots affect your ability to march, they don't affect your ability to march IN STEP or to be dressed in a straight line, nor do they affect your ability to look up or make you have a chat with your mate while you're being inspected. They're in the HCMR doing public duties frecrissake, which is what they joined for and what they spend the majority of their time training for. The Army's at a low ebb, the lowest it's ever been, and that 's amply demonstrated by this shower. Sad.

I always feel very proud to be British through and through when I see displays/ outings like this. The horses coats shine with brushing. I alway want to pay compliments to the Side drum soldier,his great,gentle horse with Those big drums either side of him. It must really vibrate loudly throughout his body when the drummer starts, but been beautifully trained just to March on. I’m also surprised at just how many females we have now as lifeguards etc…you can’t always see their faces, but when marching,then is when you notice the height difference, and usually a slimmer body. Nothing wrong with females being in these jobs, just surprised as it’s always been male oriented. One time all men had to meet specific height requirements but that’s been dropped too. Well done one and all! I hope the Korean Priminister and officials enjoyed their special carriage rides and display just for them! Well done our guys and girls, AND HORSES!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💐💕🥰🙋‍♀️💯
