Same. I'm guessing the update messed up the PS3 so we are forced to buy the newer models. Well, I just plan to use the PS3 for Blu-ray disc playback. For gaming, I will stick with PC & for Blu-ray movies, will probably just get the Xbox X.

It worked! I turned the system off, held the power button till I heard another sound. I chose to still connect using HDMI. It worked like magic!

If this still does not work for you, you will have to play with your tv settings such as hdr, video range, color space mainly for Sony bravia TVs. Then retry steps

You know, I had a 360 for over five years. Never had any problems until I punched it so hard the disc tray jammed for good. I get a PS3, and within three months it gets random HDMI failure.

Try to keep your ps3 powered ON, then if still no picture, turn your ps3 off to standby mode then leave it there for about 10 to 15 mins until the console is a bit warm or hot, Then try to hold up the ON button until you hear the 2nd beep. Once hear it it will show pic. When there is no 2nd beep, try it all over again. Eventually it will show picture.

Moved my PS3 to another TV. Didn't show any image so I did like in video pressing the Power button and hearing two beeps and now it detected the hdmi and it's working with no problem. So the video helped me with my problem :)

If the screen to the PS3 seems black despite tried to change visual settings and more, try to press and hold “ON/OFF” button until 3 beeps, not just two as before to reset settings. After 3 beeps it will restart. Press and hold until 2 beeps. After this I finally got my picture via HDMI cable and could upgrade settings from 560p to 1080p and it worked fine!
