Real nice work. I’ve taken a few months off modeling building, but this wants me to get back at it. 👍👍👍👍

Very much enjoyed the vid. I really like doing dust without pigments. I think this stems form my early builds when I plastered them with pigment and ended up with overly dusty builds which all looked very similar and a little dull tbh. Really liked the way you created those effects

Nice vid. I normally use pigments to weather, but this has some great techniques that I might just have to try...

I fid them useful too, but also they can be frustrating when varnishes or just touching the model messes them up.

I like your weathering, but I have a question. What period of winter are you modelling. If it is in the middle of the Russian winter there would be very little mud and dust. If early spring then those effects apply. Just curious whenever I see modelers do winter weathering I always try to figure out the period of the season.

hey what color would you paint the sdfz. 222 interior and suspension? im thinking German grey since the DAK camo was applied on route to Africa and they wouldn't paint the interior or undercarriage. i may be wrong. can't find anything with historical accuracy online? im thinking of getting a tamiya kit just trying to figure how to paint it first. thank you for any help you can provide

I'm thinking about using mig washable white, which seems to be an acrylic paint reactivated by water. The mig washable paints also come in various weathering colors. I see there is also an aqualine white. Are the Wilder aqualines and the Mig washable paints basically the same kind of stuff? Do you have thoughts on how they compare?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 жыл бұрын
I have used AK Interactive washable white before which is similar to the Mig AMMO stuff. They are not gouache like the Wilder product though, they are just normal acrylics that work a little different.

Can i do this effect exclusively with arcrylics
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 5 жыл бұрын
+A fine Murican not really. You need effects that have slower drying times to allow for blending -- like the Gouache and Oils I used.

Can you use arcrylic paints instead of oils
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 5 жыл бұрын
Not really. They dry too fast and cannot be reactivated. They might work for speckling, but it's easy to mess that up and like I said, you won't be able to remove them like you can if you are using oils/enamels.

That Aquiline product looks great. Can you completely remove it if you make a mistake or does always leave a residue like dissolved pigments?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 5 жыл бұрын
I imagine it would leave some residue if you were to let it sit for a while (days) and then tried to remove it. But some of the streaks and stuff I did on the upper areas with the AquaLine I didn't like at first so I could just wipe off the streaks with a bit of water. This was maybe 5 mins after application, but they were very thin streaks so they were already dry.

@Panzermeister36

I find speckling is very useful. Some guys use it for chipping, which I have not tried, but I might try on my Tiger soon.

Where can I buy Wilder paint product on line?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 2 жыл бұрын
You can't really anymore. Adam Wilder sold the Wilder company, a few years ago, to his Russian colleagues who already basically controlled the company. So the products are made and sold from Russia now, and due to the war in Ukraine it is now basically impossible to buy from Russia.

Only Problem: The Wilder stuff is hardly available outside North America.
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 5 жыл бұрын
+KrautReport well I know for a fact that it's quite common in Eastern Europe. I'm sure you can order it. But like I said, a mix of paint and plastic of Paris would work instead of Textured Earth, an enamel product works the same as the Aqua Line (you'll just need a varnish), and artist's oils can be used without problem either.
