This could have been a fail video right from the start. What not to wear when working near a high speed fan.

You have to take the connecting rod off.

u seem to know a SHITLOAD bout these, i have a 30gallon dewault, it ran to long with a hole in the hose(dog chewed it), i smelled burnt oil, so i changed it.. any idea what could be going on?.. ty for ANY reply

I know that smell! If it is no longer making pressure most likely just need new piston. Pull the head and look at the cylinder and see if it is scratched. If that is good enough then slap in a cheap piston and go.

Exactly! It’s sad, when people don’t monitor the comments on their own videos.

Um, there’s no air filter in the air filter housing? You’re going to get more unwanted crap in the compressor. You just went to the point of using your own shirt that you’re wearing, to nearly get caught in the fan, and then put it together with nothing anyway? If you’re leaking out the pressure relief valve, you should change that. The trick that helps you to install the head with the O-ring still in place, is to put a light film of grease (Vaseline) on the O-ring. -that’ll make it stick in place. By the way, never unplug something, especially something that draws a fair amount of amps, while it’s running. There’s a switch right on the unit, so use that….THEN unplug the cord. Also, I never see anyone do this on their videos….open the tank’s water drain valve on the bottom, once in awhile. It’s great to do it while the pressure is low, like it was when you did this job. There wasn’t very good light for this video. Sorry, just couldn’t see very well because of the shadows.

My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong?

I would have to guess your pressure switch is shot.

Pressure switch, is what tells it to turn on & then off when it reaches the preset pressure.
