Went to an event with Steve Baxter of Shark Tank Australia fame who now runs Ten13, possibly the #1 defence oriented venture fund in Australia and asked him "as a startup in defence you have 1 customer, how do you know you are making something they want and are willing to pay for?", his answer was "there is more than one customer" (fair) and "its a $1.2T industry and they signal every now and again what they are interested in buying". This podcast was a much much better answer to my question. I particularly liked how autoregressive LLMs can be used as I have not been able to figure that out
