So I derby up here in Canada and I'm still a rookie but what is the no protector class? Pro stock for us Canadians?

Basically a pro stock but you are not allowed a distributer protector

@All4HimRacing this is a great heat and as a guy who has motor sports running through his blood and has seen a lot of demolition derbies in his life I have to ask what is a "no protector"class?

No protector just means no distributor protector. The more modified classes allow a steel cage to be built around distributor to protect it from being damaged. Pretty big help as a car bends. This class is a nice meet in the middle

No protector....but 57 has a lower cradle and pulley protector lol

No protector here is you are allowed a lower cradle and pulley protector only. No DP or transmission protector, all stock steering components, non braced 5 lug rearend.

Most no protector shows allow lower cradles. Easier to put motors in and helps to keep from breaking the tabs of the blocks.

#57 What happens when you run a car with a rotten rear frame rail? Or improper weld job?

@@pup9et the body peeled from the frame, looked like the frame ripped where the body mount holes were(could be very wrong).

@@Fieldofdead I'm just curious is all. Not sure if this is Erie County NY or Erie county PA. But in NY a lot of these older full frame cars are junk because the frame around and behind the rear axle are rotted out because of the salt NY uses on our roads. Crap back 10yrs ago we were running into problems finding non rotted regals, malibu's and monti's for our street stock and pure stock race cars. A lot of tracks allow you to weld replacement sections now.
