you guys are gringos... and that's ok, the thing is you guys misunderstood is what makes you part of a country is the mutual understanding of the common struggles of the people. It doesn't have anything to do with genetics or language, the idea of the motherland is associated to several common characteristics that can't be given, only experience for example political turmoil, festivities, education, and of course weather and geographic location, that's why you guys would never experience the Ulises syndrome, because you guys are already at home, but someone from a land they can't come back would cry hearing a song that remind him a local game or a tv commercial he used to watch as a kid. Be proud to be a gringo. Que la experiencia americana y la formación cultural que hayan tenido no sea la misma de aquellos que si hemos crecido en nuestros paises de orígen no significa que no deban sentirse orgullosos de lo que son, sin embargo, sus vivencias son tan diametralmente opuestas a las nuestras que no les da el derecho a hablar por nosotros, un ejemplo es que nadie en latinoamerica se refiere a si mismo como latino, esos solo sucede en los estados unidos donde la separación racial terminó en una unificación y simplificacion cultural en grupos fáciles de dirigir, lo mismo les pasó a los asiaticos.
