Fun fact, Yinu isn't only playing Triplets, she's also playing syncopation, accentuation, creschendos and diminuendos alongside many more complicated stuff. This video shows a piano version of Yinu's finale which points out the inconsistency: (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWGaiHSCedp6btE ) Zuke due to having a degree in fine arts and music would obviously recognized these kinds of piano skills but the reason why he said Triplets was to relay a message to Mayday as quick and effective as possible. He never would underestimate Yinu but he probably didn't take in account how skilled she truly is. So when Yinu went into a frenzy, Zuke was absolutely floored with how she was able to play such difficult music techniques with such skill, especially with how young she is. He would have been too shocked to process every technique Yinu's pulling out and Mayday wouldn't understand half of it so with his quick thinking, he yelled out "Oh no, Triplets!" and was able to convey the message to Mayday that Yinu brought the big guns and she was hitting it HARD. The reason why Mayday understood what Zuke was saying is because Triplets is a guitar technique and playing it was difficult, especially when you are the playing the role of the Rhythm Guitar which focuses on driving the music and lock in with other instruments such as the bass and drums, which is Mayday's role. Since triplets are commonly used in rock music, it makes sense for Mayday to learn about Triplets and understand why they were considered hard, hence why she was able to understand what Zuke was saying. To Mayday, Triplets are difficult and if Yinu is playing Triplets, whether it be on a piano or a guitar, Mayday understands immediately that Yinu isn't holding back anymore and that this was her true skills. You don't mess with the Golden Maestro of Vinyl City, Mayday and Zuke learned that the hard way.

What I think is very interesting about this song is the fact it'll play the same song even if you picked rock or EDM mode. And the meter can't decide whether it's rock or EDM so it goes left and right in rapid speed because yinu is playing neither, she's playing pure classical music. Yinu isn't with her mother or her enemies she's on her own side and she'll fight for it until the end of the track.

i honestly was so mad when they broke her piano. had it been anyone else breaking mayday's guitar it'd be considered a hate crime against those who love rock, but because they think they're in the right, going around fucking up everyone's instruments, music and disfiguring Sayu, they just get a "oh my bad rock's pretty cool". Yinu didn't deserve a broken piano. Yinu is literally a child that happened to be an elite. My heart hurts.

Well, it was either that or physically beating up a 9-year-old child...but I think that's kind of the point. Yinu's boss fight is where the game really starts making you question if you're playing as the "good guys" here, which just intensifies the further into the game you go until the big climactic reveal. *WARNING! SPOILERS BELOW!* And for what it's worth, karma comes back to bite Mayday a bit at the end when her guitar gets wrecked in the process of stopping Kliff's "destroy Vinyl City" plan. Sure, she got a new one immediately afterwards, but you can tell that she's fully prepared to accept the end of her music career as due penance for everything she did over the course of the game.

This was the tidal point in the game that made me question the ethics of BBJ and just how far they'd go for establishing their presence in Vinyl City. In a later in-game interview in the Broadcast Room, you're given an option to have BBJ say that they,"Did some things that they were not proud of" But that they had to see it through for their rights to play Rock. But I do also feel as though breaking the piano was a bit much on their part. SPOILER ---------------------------------------------------------- Thankfully "Through the power of rock" (Magic I guess???) They fixed Yinu's piano near the end.

Honestly, I think yinu and her mother needed it. I mean, you look at their interaction before this section, it becomes obvious that something has been building up for a long time, probably due to their status. It's only during a tumultuous fight and the baring of their emotions that they can even begin to repair their relationship. If mayday and zuke had never done this, it's likely that they never would have thought to confront it, and yinu would grow up with that.

Yinu's fight is very interesting as its the first fight they genuinely lose. Yinu's mother was fighting handicapped the entire battle, holding Yinu away from the dangerous punks who where attacking her. The real kicker here is they CAN'T beat Yinu's music, and resort to BREAKING her piano. Yinu's music eas stronger than theirs, and thus they had to cheat. Also little side note. When she said SAY THAT TO MY FACE. I was thinking it's pretty funny because in about five seconds her mom is going to go put her fist through your face.

I think it was extremely important for the piano to be broken. It was a symbol of Yinus dead father, and both her and her mother couldn't get over his death. As cruel as it was, but in order to cope with his death and start anew, they needed to let go. And this shows when they both sit down together and play in peace for the first time. Not for an audience, not for his legacy, but simply for themselves, and noone else. To form a new bond. Thats what I love this scene for. It's very subtle and easy to misread, but it holds so much weight.
