I am german, my father actually had a piece of the Berlin Wall once (it broke in tiny pieces and we had to throw it away), he got it from a friend who was a bit after the time the Berlin Wall was torn down in Berlin and got him that as a gift. My father told me he was watching the news live as it was being torn down it was a happy moment for everyone. My father was born back in 1961 which in my opinion is like witnessing the entire wall period even as a toddler, I think it’s intriguing because I am really a history freak but that must’ve been a emotional termoil. I didn’t witness the wall myself, neither have I ever been to Berlin but I am glad that Germany is reunited since it probably would’ve been unappealing to live in a country split for eternity, unity is great - all I can say ❤
