Edit: **Sigh** In case you folks have forgotten (which telling by quite a LOT of comments I see you very same folks have) the game is known to have sold from over 10 million copies (and counting), therefore basically you either already do or you *will* know of not only this game but also of the many characters involved with said game, just like the very millions that bought it and are still buying copies now as a result of the popularity still surrounding it even to this day. Even if you or some other clueless commenter doesn’t know, dozens if not hundreds of commenters are bound to. That is by definition what a community is and what it’s for, as are fans in a nutshell. Not even to mention the near countless videos I’ve seen myself talking of or showing “le funny moments” of Astarion that too would also be more than enough to prove my point, especially with how many views said videos get and still get even to this day. Baldur Gate 3 is the hot new game from last year so I suppose that infuenced the list. Though personally I wouldn't put any characters from a game that isn't even a year old on a list for "most iconic of all-time". Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 will become a classic of modern gaming or it will be forgotten and no one but die-hard fans will talk about, at this point it is way too soon to tell.

Everyone is saying how Mario should be higher than Lara, which is true, but realistically both of them should be below Pikachu who somehow got to 12th. Pokémon is one of the biggest franchises in the world, even non-gamers would easily recognize Pikachu because they have more than likely watched the show as a kid. Mario should be a close second of course, but this whole list is just a mess.

Well, that's assuming that the list is organized to begin with. It does not say "TOP 20" or "the 20 most iconic characters ranked from first to last", therefore, there's more chances that it's a disorganized list rather than the opposite. (Sorry if my English is kinda bad. I'm still learning btw).
