Trump has ran for President several times before 2015. The Simpsons didn't even predict it, they just referenced a real thing that happened.

Yeah i remember in high school reading a (Vice?) article about Trump being annoyed nobody was asking if he was gonna run this time because he teased it so constantly basically every election prior. This was like 2013 or 2014. The 2016 election was just the one time he actually followed through fully.

Another factor in that Simpsons prediction thing: they are always commenting on current affairs, which increases the chances of a joke becoming relevant later. The Donald Trump thing is the best example. It was a reference to his failed presidential run in the 90s, that was more self promotion than anything.
