This is how I've felt since 2008. What happened to 007 and who is this miserable, stiff and awkward meathead of a Russian henchman masquerading as James Bond? And every single one of his movies since Royale has been the same plot... He leaves the service for some reason, a big terrorist appears and he has to come back. He runs around chasing people with scars on his face and being angry, then gets captured and tortured. So sick of it and I miss Bond movies. This is americanised garbage that's rapidly losing it's way and forgetting what James Bond even is. James Bond films used to set the trends and set the standard - now they are desperaely clinging to the coattails of Nolan and Bourne and John Wick, and the character himself is turning into some miserable utter meathead.
@hi-railhardin3 жыл бұрын
@@AD-kv9kj Excellent point. Let's also note that now every Bond film must have a female who is "Bonds Equal", that basically shares in the stars glow. In other words, its PC Bond. I'll stick with the Connery, Lazenby, Moore, and Brosnan films.

@Lucky Lushy You know exactly why edgelord a British film doesn't = all white people. How else can this come across besides you having a disdain for a black women being in a movie for the white dudes? You see one black chick and just have to act like something is wrong and then be like how ever am i wacisttt? yes it's pandering but who cares guess what the entire concept of 007 films pander and often miss the point of the books entirely that Bond's life is actually awful and he's used as a tool by his government for sometimes very morally questionable things and he can't find any real meaning or connection to people because of it so he drowns himself in booze and women. The first ever Bond novel is about how he falls in love truly with a woman and loses her because of his lifestyle, this is also one of the most well loved Bond movies These new 007 films are the most faithful to Ian Fleming's work in a lot of ways and this one looks pretty good. Felix has been in these Craig Bond films from the start he's a CIA agent close friend of Bond they aren't just cramming him in all of a sudden for diversity. Would you say Casino Royale is also a bad movie because it includes an African-American CIA agent and Ugandan characters too

This feels like the first time in a Daniel Craig bond film where he actually has to save the world. Like, all the previous films were mainly smaller threats that only wanted money or to go after MI6 directly. This time it feels like the threat is on a global scale.
@diaris81773 жыл бұрын
I personally don't like that; I like the more grounded, realistic feeling Casino Royale-like Bond instead of the classic "save the world" storyline that was used MANY times before this film. I like the smaller scale bond films, but whatever floats your boat
@lsmithcine21373 жыл бұрын
@@diaris8177 i think if they manage to imbue the film with the actual dramatic gravity of what it means to kill millions, then it could work. the trouble with typical "save the world" plots is that they are usually deeply unserious and predictable. but this film seems to have the grounded energy and intimate drama of Casino Royale, so I am expecting them to finally nail a consequential "save the world" plot. hopefully.

Certainly looks more bonkers than the ones post Casino Royale. A lot of these shots are callbacks from old films as well, cars, music, camera shots. At the very least, I hope it's a good send off for Craig.
@visionaryvisuals34943 жыл бұрын
I perfer that as well but I don't mind the whole "save the world" scenario in this one because I understand why they would go that route since it is his last and it doesn't look like it's going like too over the top like the Brosnan films; and just like the previous Craig films, this film also looks like a personal character driven story with the essential plot tying into Madeleines past as well as culminating every aspect of Craig's run as Bond. So that's good that they are still continuing that aspect featured in the Craig films, therefore I think they are handling this film very well in terms of all these high stakes.

So it's Dr. No then. Original Dr. No was a Chinese-German with a skin condition from exposure to radiation, who lived in a generically "Asian" themed underground island base. Here, Rami malek, a dude of Egyptian decent is dressing in Japanese clothing, has a skin condition and lives in an asian-inspired underground base. He wears a Noh mask (get it!?) and the film is called NO Time To Die....

You have majorly misread what I wrote there buddy. I'm pointing all this stuff out as the film makers are claiming this character is simply called 'Saffin' and that he's not obviously Dr No. I highlighted Malek being Egyptian playing someone maybe mixed race Asian as it's just like the original character being of mixed race Asian heritage... More proof that he's Dr No. Honestly man, I think you need to take a look at yourself, blowing up at a nobody on the internet over something they didn't even say, but you thought they did says something about you. You are clearly a super angry dude ready to blow up at anyone for anything, and that ain't healthy brother.
@mrcritical67513 жыл бұрын
The most he alluded to was putting quotation marks around the word “Asian” when describing the original Dr No’s hideout which makes sense as some of the design choices in Dr No’s base were kinda stereotypical and weren’t authentically Asian designs

Officially 1 year since I saw No Time to Die!!! Should’ve been released this month to coincide with Casino Royale’s 15th anniversary Had tears in my eyes by the end A fitting conclusion for Daniel Craig as James Bond I was never bored, the story revelations were consistently entertaining, fun action, a relevant storyline for our modern world, and I enjoyed how they bounced from each character to the next Although I wish Ana de Armas and Jeffrey Wright were in it more as well as Christophe Waltz But I was impressed with Rami Malek as the villain and Lashana Lynch as the first female 00 agent Lea Seydoux as Madeleine continues holding her relationship with Bond, the glue that keeps the movie grounded making Bond feel human The opening song by Billie Eilish provides the right amount of melancholy Some newer story beats might've been slightly glanced over though Still it's a bittersweet finale for this new modernized take on Ian Fleming's character Definitely worth the wait Still can't believe this is the last James Bond film starring Daniel Craig Amazing they paid tribute to the past 23 films in 2 hours and 46 min; everything from the opening titles to visual cues right down to certain line exchanges Director Cary Fukunaga did a splendid job opening more possibilities for the franchise while also tying up dangling storylines Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas are the best new characters I really like Rami Malek as the villain Safin I was in tears by the time this ended and the score by Hans Zimmer added a lot of emotional weight to it Very happy I watched all these movies and picked up many similarities mainly On Her Majesty's Secret Service I'll miss Craig playing this character so much...
