I bought these recently and they surprised me, where really comfortable right away. Normally because I got flat feet the middle part always hurts, not with this one. I would've liked the sock to be a little higher but these are fire overall. And no laces didnt bother me aswell, when you get true to size, you'll be fine

Fit and feel is the number 1 factor when picking a boot. Don't underestimate it. I've wasted so much money on boots that I hope will break in and in the end they just end up getting shelved. Get one that fits your foot the best, then pick the best looking one.

I've seen this being said all over youtube that the fold over tongue is useless and I have to at least come up with some arguments for it. For striking and controlling the ball it offers that smooth surface that you get from a laceless boot, which increases precision, with the advantage of still having the lockdown from the lacing system, then having the laces underneath it offers extra cushioning so you can put all the power you want in your shots without feeling sore. Depending on foot-size and shape, people have very different techniques of hitting power shots, maybe for some it doesn't make any difference having the tongue there, but there's lots of people who consider the tongue a nice extra tool to have for their game. Some people wear it to be cool, that's true, but Zidane wore it too and that guy would have never worn anything just for the coolness of it, he was a machine and only wore boots that would let him express his game and he wore the tongue almost his whole career, he would lace all the way up and strap the tongue in the midfoot like a boss (on leather boots it provides extra lockdown) and just watch his striking technique and you'll understand why the tongue is there and then watch his volley goal in the Champions League final and tell me that's not a full tongue strike...

how does the lockdown compare to the f50 elite laceless?

It’s pretty similar, although ultimately the one that will provide the “best” lockdown for you, will be the one that fits your feet the best. There’s no great way to know which one that is without trying them both on. There’s more padded heel of the F50 I think is a little more forgiving in terms of working better with more foot shapes 👍
