Oh man, this is just scratching the surface of NUFAN. Tony never wrote a bad song, so there’s a ton to check out here. Incredible talent and human being gone way too soon. RIP Tony Sly…never forgotten 😢. Also, Chris Shiflett, of Foo Fighters fame, was NUFANs lead guitarist for 4 years and played on the record this song is from and the album after as well before joining Foos. He was also the on again, off again guitarist for Me First And The Gimme Gimmes for quite awhile.

There we go. NUFAN. On the Outside and Invincible for this album are a must. It would be this song is track 1. Invincible is track 2. and On the Outside is track 4. One of my favorite albums. FIrst show I ever saw. San Diego circa 98.. canes. Ataris/Mad Caddies/Good Riddance/No Use For A Name

I could tell Chuck would be on board from second one with that Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross clip. Interestingly, the band’s name predates the movie. This was a great band. Really personable, introspective lyrics. A melodic, relatable voice. I was fortunate enough to see them a number of times in the 90s, and spent some time chatting with Tony. I’m older now than he was when he died in 2012, and it just highlights how young he was, and what a loss he was for the punk community. NUFAN were one of the best melodic punk bands out there. Keep going, and dive deep.

Aww man. Still hits the heart to listen to NUFAN. Between Tony Sly and Joey Cape (Lagwagon) they are definitely at the top of my list for acoustic albums outside of their respective bands. Cheers, fellas 🤘
