I pretty much grew up with The Karate Kid and Mr Miyagi (the first movie came out when I was 10), so as you can imagine every flashback to Mr Miyagi in this series hits HARD. Like straight up weeping. 😭

Sorry for commenting a second time. Just finished the video. I love your takeaways. I don’t think your ability to predict plot points makes it seem like you’ve seen the show already, if anything it shows how invested you are, and how observant you are. This series gets CRAZY good and the character growth for everyone is insane. By the time you catch up, I’m sure you’ll be ready for the final part of the new season. 😊

Good to see your reacting to this show. I'm surprised you have waited so long when it is obvious to see your a huge fan of the karate kid films although I'm not sure if you saw the movies when you were young or recently. Has more of a nostalgic feeling if you saw them years ago than recently. There are moments throughout the whole series that will give you full body chills. There were two such moments in this episode. Daniel at miyagi grave when you see the flashback & Daniel at the end doing the kata with the original music being played. Those two scenes along with Miguel fighting sequence make this episode one of the best of the entire show not just season 1. Good reaction
