Sorry if I tread on toes here, I don't think the Guard would put their troopers and horses in harm's way at the end of the day. The addition of armed Police patrolling with them would be enough for any serious problems. I've had horses all my life and when I see people being upset over things that those trained horses see every day with people maybe for the first time in their lives a real horse they naturally they want to touch the horse. They encourage the public to take photos with the horse. So there is the point really. They are on display as per the Regiments standing orders. If they don't want them to be touched then they would put up a barrier of some sort which solves the perceived issue. These guys are real solider's as was I , so my unit came across UK troops all over the world in actual combat these guys are lucky in today's world to be what they doing now. Not trying stay alive daily when the shit hits the fan. Hey just young trained soldiers with horses are not children with some kids dressage horse for Sunday riding. .. Sorry folks but I'm getting older now and forever standing for these sort of soldiers of today's world .

It takes seconds for a situation to change, I too have been lucky enough to own horses, these horses have been trained yes but when people are taking advantage of those poor animals, its disgusting...I have seen people give the horses something to eat and moments later they are going crazy, I seen people HIT the horses, grab them atound the throat etc, etc, etc when they are stood there and people keep stroking their noses and holding on to their heads so they cant move, I have seen quiet horses start swaying side to side getting agitated and when their ears go flat against their head and they are angry people still keep coming for their stupid photos, It is all tantramount to animal abuse IMHO, and they cant put barriers up in front of the horses when they come out of the boxes they need to swing around there would not be enough room for them and besides the pavement is not MOD property............

Everybody wants to visit there , just like people want to come to America , and visit here. It is a tourist attraction, but those guards are doing a very serious job and the horse is doing a very serious job. I've never been to London. It's one place I'd love to go one day, but I would never ever think to go there and think of disrespecting anyone's laws rules, government soldiers, I just don't know what anyone is thinking. I hate how people laugh at them. I want to take a picture, but there are clear signs that say not to touch the reins the horses will kick and bite, And lack of disrespect, like I said it's unbelievable. Just like I wouldn't want any tourist to come to America or wouldn't want them to come and break any laws or to laugh at our government or our soldiers doing their job. It's ridiculous. It's unbelievable. 90% of what those people get away with doing those officers walking around they could be arresting people for trespassing, they could be throwing people off the property harassment, the treatment alone of the troopers should get them thrown into prison.
