Good lord!! 🤯 I’ve been listening to that song for over 40 years, and have filmed the Marleys themselves play it live on multiple occasions when I did video for their shows. That’s the first cover I’ve ever heard which actually made my eyes well up 🥹😢… I could EASILY listen to an entire album of that, on loop, for HOURS!!! Hi Evan Nicole, Sweetest Bob Marley song ever and you did it so beautifully with grace. Girl you are amazing. I was lucky enough to see his concert held in 1976 in Sweden's capital Stockholm when I was 20 years old and now I will be 70 years old in 2024. It was a magical moment when Raggae music was so new in Europe and people were very excited to see Mr. Bob live. Yes it was a wild and crazy moment full of overwhelming joy. 🙏🙏💓💓

This one is a bit of a tough one for me. First of all: I am not fond of the recordings that Bob Marley recorded after his music was made suitable (mainly by Chris Blackwell) for a general (international) audience. I prefer "The Wailers" with the core trio Marley, Tosh, Wailer. From the Ska days into the early Reggae period (for instance the Lee Perry recordings) Secondly, I don't like the original, mostly because of the use of a drum machine. The big "hit" was - rightly so - the live version. Now your version (I'm addressing you because I know you will read this). An honest and refined performance. But nevertheless: I miss the lyrics. The text was always important for both "The Wailers" and for the later star Marley. Especially here, because with this song he supported social work (a soup kitchen; see the lyrics) in Jamaica by donating the writing credits to its owner. This is not meant as criticism of you. Yours remains a beautiful rendition. Hence - in non-Jamaican English -: "Woman, don't cry"...
