Literally I've only seen men bashing them calling this song a "men hater song" When most men enjoy it and got the lyrics, they probably got personal because they did something wrong, in fact dude himself insulted them for nothing. From the word "IMAGINE" in the lyric, I found a message "It sounds attractive, but it would be terrible if things like this happen to the real world, isn't it?" And that reactor totally agreed to this and got angry. But it's also true that women had long time been through such world. This is just one of various interpretations, and I would welcome any other ones, but remember that it's totally wrong to be bad mouth.
@naivet Жыл бұрын
I saw a lot of people complaining about the lyrics being sexist, but my interpretation about this was different. The first thing that came to my mind was the kpop industry itself, wich would be kinda like a paradox, since the idols are controlled by their agencies, but also succeding in music is asociated with rising to the top (shown in the last scene of the M/V), wich means gaining status. So the meaning would be like: With our music we can now control people (in the context of wanting more of them, almost like a drug) Btw, if anyone thinks XG is not Kpop, just know that Simon (AKA JAKOPS), who is their producer, said himself that with XGALX they aim to make global music and their metodology is the same as other kpop groups

The worst of all is that from an objective point of view he was giving his opinion and interpretation of the lyrics. But as soon as he refers to them sexually as "a group of vaginas" and calls them "tramps," all his words lose weight and even their troubled past gives a lot to talk about about his "objective" opinions. We all suffer from a mental epidemic, EVERYONE, whether you are a man or a woman. Help is there, if you're a man with fragile masculinity you're obviously not going to give a shit about your mental health because you're like, "I'm a man, no one cares about me." No bro, be a man and say “I have mental problems (depression or anxiety), I'll get help” seriously, how insecure do you have to be for a lyric to affect you? As a confident person, gender does not matter, you will not let yourself be controlled by anyone and you will not control anyone either.

Thank you for stepping up and saying something. I enjoy your reactions and your positivity.
I just came across your channel after seeing he who shall not be named’s reaction and I have never felt so validated by a male reactor. Thank you for understanding us when so many insist on misunderstanding. I feel like what *some* men don’t understand is that this conversation has a lot of history behind it and that’s why us women and men too are getting so tired of people trying to say that misandry is as real as misogyny is. It’s not. It’s like saying reverse racism is a thing. One is institutional, while the other is an opinion (however offensive they may be). Misandry is annoying to men, misogyny is physically dangerous to women. Women in many countries fear physical violence from men. That’s just a fact. The argument that men’s mental health crisis is at an all time high is true and I agree. And the perpetrator of that is the patriarchy. It’s reinforces toxic masculine ideals that stop men from appearing weak or seeking help. But guess what, the patriarchy is not something women control. Men should want it gone as much as women do.

I thought he was a rapper, so couldn't he break down the lyrics to Puppet Show.. This is my take on Puppet Show I believe the song is about female idol groups who can't speak or act like themselves and feel like the music industries puppets! Also, that hole they jumped into was a leap of faith because the other person who i think was Simon when he was part of DMTN couldn't escape the industry like he wanted too and exploded, but under the leadership of Simon he allowed XG to jump into the music industry and they made it through. I believe when their running to the top of the podium it's a sign of their individually and independence. They took their bow like they definitely deserve. Also, i think the white symbolizes when their dancing on the podium that they're in control of their own destiny! XG worked endlessly for us Alphaz this year! Thanks for speaking about this. Japanese girls especially feel the pain of patriarchy. In Japan, Japanese girls are expected to help around the house as soon as ouberty hits, no such expectation on the boys. You see it in anime where a good sister is one who cooks and makes the bentos in the morning or makes dinner. So this song is needed.
@amkyuuuu Жыл бұрын
"You see it in anime" might just be the worst argument ever. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that your experiences of the Japanese patriarchy aren't based on anything you've experienced in the real world since you seem to think anime represents reality in whatever way. And even if it did what exactly does this entirely english song written by male composers and promoted globally do to solve the situation?
@@mikaneko1 Women and men both have their struggles, as you seem to have realized, and I can fully agree with you even with my very limited experience of Japanese culture. But the comment above was trying to prove something by saying that it's seen in anime, as if that meant anything, which I had a problem with because you can't base your opinion on these very real issues from watching fictional cartoons, which besides being fictional are products sold to consumers, so they don't have any particular interest in portraying reality but have a very strong incentive to make up stories and fit whatever narrative to sell more.

I've watched that reaction and was shocked. I believe it has nothing to do with dudes or feminism but with girl groups and Entertainment companies as most of them have minimal to no say on how they act, what songs they do, what they wear, what is their public persona and so on. They are basically stating "puppet strings, barbie dolls and change idol stereotypes (from rap mixtape 3-B Nothing) and hyping girl groups to get a hold of their career. XG does various genres, raps, vocals and so on, so they have solo's and do their own thing basically whereas others hardly get a solo. This happens in K-Pop, J-Pop, C-Pop, T-Pop, V-Pop, M-Pop all other -Pop and it happened even in the west with Spice Girls, TLC, En Vogue, Destiny's Child, Pussycat dolls, 5th harmony and so on. Even I-dle or (G) I-dle, whichever you prefer, have to fight for their own written and produced songs and they are the only girl group that did all songs as members songs.

If you're offended by what they sang in the puppet show, then you don't know the fact that there are still cultures that put down girls and force women to serve men (fathers,brothers, husbands etc) while being disrespected and unappreciated. It's just a song that you can choose to not listen to if you don't like it. That other KZbinr can hv his opinions but he should not take the song so seriously. Bro gotta chill

I watched that reaction and was a subscriber at the time. Not any longer my first thought was why would you upload the video in the first place? If you are so offended delete the video and move on. The lyrics specifically say imagine a world where... everything after that was taken as an assualt to every man alive. Obviously he missed that part of the lyrics before the name calling started. What a joke.

I’ve seen the video of that certain reactor and it’s very clear that he does not listen, nor did he even listen to the lyrics of the song at the beginning. He took the chorus and painted it like XG is the reason for the mental health of young men 😂. How narcissistic can you get when you take a message that is delivered to women to basically not be played by men? And then flip it to somehow now XG is responsible for young men’s depression? Like wtf??? 😂😂😂 Literally at the beginning of the song it’s clearly telling the listener to “listen” and stop talking. And what does he do? He starts talking?!?! 😂😂😂 I fuckin can’t with misogynistic narcissistic men who think the world revolves around them. Clearly something happened to him in the past and my god, I guess what Maya said back in the XG tapes is true “I’m not trying to hurt no feelings, unless the shoe fits.” And the shoe fit him perfectly, it was made specifically for him.

Ya man I watched his reaction and he came way out of left field with that one lol. I was like dude! Relax! And the fact he said it’s not part of their message… did he not hear mascara which is in the same vein? Their whole thing is “girl power” which is pretty common. Then you have girl rappers like Ice Spice who talk about using a man cause he’s a “munch” but XG is giving people mental health problems? Oh dear. I think he was really triggered. XG is not BTS. He wants BTS positive mental health energy he should stick with BTS.

Literally I tried to explain to him the cultural differences between his country and how in places like Korea and Japan it's important to make social commentary about gender inequality since ours is such a huge gap between the treatment men get and the treatment women get, and he went on to call me wrong (despite him admitting he knows nothing) and then tried to apply his own country's history and culture to mine...like I'm literally from Korea lmao

He called them tramps, them and all of (G)I-DLE because they made songs that call out the treatment women are subjected to by men in East Asian societies like Korea and Japan. He said that meant they were disparaging men and "You don't see male kpop idols doing this." etc. etc. Basically crying that women called this stuff out. Then in my comment he went on a personal rant that basically makes me think he believes women should just be at home and not work. @@Donn2k

What’s ironic is Simon actually had a hand at writing the lyrics aka a man. Lmao the girls just performed and sang it - what I’m getting at is I doubt the girls actually think that way, they’re just doing their job and delivering amazing talent through what they are given. I have noticed more I look into it how the song does have kinda a toxic meaning but as you said - most songs regardless the gender - in hip hop and r&b , many have that same typa message and vibe. It’s really not THAT deep. Plus if you’re a real fan that actually knows ALOT about the girls and stuff - you’d know they’re the sweetest and most genuine people. So it’s really not something people should take to heart. Art is art , music is music, just vibe and relate it or interpret it however you want, but can’t deny it’s still catchy and has a nice sound and kick to it.
@badboyonibaku Жыл бұрын
If you watched the documentary during their training days.. Simon lets the girls know the meaning of the song or else how they would get the feeling or convey what they are singing or else it's bland 🤷 How it is toxic though? It's just a what if scenario on changing gender roles in a man's perspective. They are saying not all men is like that but there's literally guys who play with women. It can be interpreted also in a industry where men are still in control.
@ojosfuriososdesde95 Жыл бұрын
The fact that you think this young women don't have the capability to understand this song and just a bunch a dumb dumds that "are doing their job" is a RED FLAG , the song Is about empathy about how women feel in a industry and society something im sure those young girls have experience, did you see how in the livestream TGC runway they started calling them "fat"? just because they don't "look" the way they supposed to look ... so let's have more empathy and don't be tone deaf about it, at their young age they have experience this, if you are a "fan" I recomend go a read Cocona blogs she is one in particular that opens up about her thoughts and feelings...

@@ojosfuriososdesde95you nailed it. Its about how people are treated by the industry on a boarder scale, and these girls really do face hate in absurd ways (appearance, ethnicity, genre definitions, etc). The song had a few lines about males, then focused the rest of the time on the broader message of pulling the strings in your own life instead of letting other people's insensitivities pull the strings. The decor on their teeth during those lines is also representative of a bigger message: darkened teeth (women being silenced) on Harvey ("listen to what comes out my mouth"), and sharpened teeth (womens words being misinterpreted as sharp) on Jurin ("treat me like a lady, this ain't up for debating"). I don't see whats so wrong with that when there are literally still women being killed in this world for speaking up for themselves. Theyre a global group trying to uplift the collective. These are just a few lyrics to help get people talking about the message.
@ojosfuriososdesde95 Жыл бұрын
@@Mrsushiinom this mister " Lmao the girls just performed and sang it - what I’m getting at is I doubt the girls actually think that way, they’re just doing their job" ... your own words that they "don't think that way" they actually have thoughts, experiences, and struggles, so this song even if it was written for them, they can have a deep connection to it and understand the impact that can have on WOMEN... try not dismiss it and think little higher of these girls... they understand the positive impact that music can have in peoples lives, that's why they choose this as their job

I have to comment. I just have to. The reactor who brought out mental health issue had neither spend time nor effort on comprehensing the lyrics. He didnt get the song at all. Even though if his right, whats the matter. Music contains lyrics like (kill me) , is anyone gonna be killed because of the song¿ No! Is just a way to boost energy and that how music is supposed to be. To make you feel hyped. If that guy have to relate every songs to social issues, why dont he complain about bibi animal farm about promoting violence in the mv and ariana god is a women about offensing the religion? ( Just an eg, im a fan of both songs). Altghough i would like to say all he said is nonsense, i guess that his misunderstanding of the song has triggered a part of his dark history that has negative feeling. I just hope he can re understand the song and not have any negative memories about xg due to being discussed negatively.
