Great jasper! You are absolutely right. Many think of the new testament as only being a direct reference to Christ. But what many can't see is that the Old Testament Prophecies, the Old Testament Bible Stories, and the Leviticus Priesthood Animal Sacrificial Rituals are all, in some form or fashion , representative of Jesus. At the time of Christ the Jewish religious authorities, like many today, were blinded to the fact that Jesus is metaphorically mentioned in the Old Testament scriptures ( specifically, in Isiah's Prophecies, and in the Psalms of David). It is tragic that the Jewish Religious and the Romans Authorities were both blind to the Messianic Old testament Prophecies of Christ which resulted in the rejection of Jesus as the long awaited messiah.
