There are many interpretations that can come from this. That line did hit deep. She's underrated and there are many other music artist that struggle to live even a sliver of her life. She's being successful but overall, who knows, this song may be a message not only for others but her. The music industry is rough, entertainment in general. Lots of contracts and policies. What if she hasn't sold her soul yet and creates clues in the music. People have done it before. Everything isn't always as it seems. Just an idea, not saying anything but an idea. Only, truly, she knows if she's okay or not. We can't really have the right to say she's okay. Maybe from our perspective but, that's a view, not her soul and how she really is. I'm sorry for the long comment, it's just, this has been something, among many things, that's on my heart and I relate with songs and stories that's I've made.

Bruh, I have anxiety and I get depressing thoughts every now and then though I know I'm too happy to be clinically depressed. But that aside, knowing that people go through the same thing I do does help. But i would say that even though it helps, it's not enough in itself to help someone completely get over feeling less depressed, anxious, or lonely. I think that's why suicide hotlines, teachers offering talks, hashtags online and all that have good intentions, but they're not really gonna do anything. For people to climb out of the funk they're in, they need a lifestyle change filled with people who support them out of love rather than obligation. They need to see that the people they love care about them, rather than strangers caring about them. Love from fans probably feels nice, but to be frank, there is no personality nor face nor any humanizing feature that a collective body of fans have that make their words mean something when it comes to feeling less lonely. Its a sea of people that she doesn't know nor will ever meet nor will ever get to know, so while their words are sweet, it doesn't mean as much as you'd think it does

I don’t know what everyone’s depression is like and there are definitely different experiences but what has helped through my moments. Knowing that when it gets bad the people who love me won’t judge, will be there whenever I need and no one is pressuring me to get better. That’s the thing sometimes you can’t change what’s happening to a person, you can only make them feel supported.

I think that’s a cool interpretation! But taking this line with the context given by the lines before and after it, I feel like she’s talking about coping mechanisms for feeling alone in the world. She’s spending more than she should to feel better, even if momentarily. She’s also taken to drinking and loud parties to distract herself from the feelings of loneliness.

I feel the same way. I lost my mom 9 years ago and have been in such a deep depression because she was my best friend. I was the result of a second marriage so I am not close with my half siblings at all. The only one that I ever had and that ever loved me unconditionally was my mom, and all I have left of her are memories. I always pray that I am making her proud but (like Noah says in her song), I am so tired of being lonely. I used to think that Noah couldn't come close to the talent that Miley has, but with this song she has completely changed my mind. They are both talented. Thank you for the beautiful song Noah.

I barely know you or your music Noah, as I saw an ad with this song playing and have just found it (first listen here), but I hope you are okay. You'll get through whatever you've been going through. You may be out of this process or still going through it subconsciously. But it doesn't matter. Your attempts to fit in won't make you happy, I'm speaking from personal experience here. So don't try to. Keep using music to filter those harmful energies. Let yourself be emotional. If you're in public and need to cry just do it. If you feel unloved, love yourself.
