2:50 This section hits me so hard. While the rest of the video is defiant and resolute, this section is tender and shows genuine heartfelt disappointment. He gives this section an almost reverent feel, and you can tell it is a topic that goes straight to the core of the considerable heartache experienced from seeing the world as it really is. Noah is very careful to make a distinction between Jesus and those who claim to follow him. It is the only character in the song that doesn't tell him "I am your enemy, fear me". I love this because despite being hurt by the church Noah retains the faith he was taught as a child, although he is utterly disillusioned with the hypocrisy of how people represent that faith. Then he says "it came as no surprise" almost sardonically as if he finally understood the lie of self-righteousness.

I'm not sure how I'm just now finding this. I love it. I'll be looking at other music of his. This moved me. At the end about being in the church not being able to look into the eyes of His children, they were so bitterly burned I couldn't stand to look at them and when he finally came to me He was dressed in the rags of poverty. WOW! That's where He is indeed.

Beautiful. I feel blessed to have found your music recently. A few weeks ago I was stranded at the bus station in a new/old city wondering why the bus just wasn’t coming. I saw this teenage kid with headphones on huddled up in a crevice near the washrooms and asked him when the bus was coming. He said it was “on demand” on the weekends and you had to call in. He made a call and got me a ride. He was hanging out at the station out of some mysterious sense of mission to help people get where they needed to go. He jumped on my bus and rode the whole way with me till I got to my slum. Later I thought maybe he was an Angel :) but then last night as I was riding the bus to my raggedy job as a nameless cleaning lady and I was switching buses I saw him in the dark in the glow of the streetlights shepherding people at the station. He recognized me and asked if I was finding my way okay. I assured him I was before he hurried off to help someone else. His name is Noah. His mom keeps calling him on his phone asking him when he’s gonna come home but he says he can’t cause he’s “got plans”. His plans are a blueprint to build something for drowning men. Thank you. -for Christ plays in ten thousand places, Lovely in limbs, and lovely in eyes not his To the Father through the features of men’s faces. As Kingfishers Catch Fire, Gerard Manley Hopkins he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower And when he knew for certain only drowning men could see him He said all men will be sailors then until the sea shall free them Suzanne, Leonard Cohen O the Raggedy Man! He works fer Pa; An' he's the goodest man ever you saw! An' I says "'M go' to be a Raggedy Man!- I'm ist go' to be a nice Raggedy Man!" Raggedy! Raggedy! Raggedy Man! James Whitcomb Riley

Hawken Valhalla Eddie Vedder? What made you think Vedder? The way he looks, maybe? Not sound. Not songwriting. Not style. Just curious at how you heard it. This is not meant as a put down, so please don't take it like that. His best, by far, is "David". But he's a brilliant writer and artist. Wish I'd been that far along that young. Or now, for that matter... SW

It's called "Hard Sun" by Eddie Vedder & yes, I thought that's what he was getting ready to sing. Sounds almost exactly like it & the (guitar) chords are the same. I like his music a lot but this song seems a bit like a rip off.

Dylan Snow Hard Sun is originaly by Indio. but still, i agree with you, first few seconds are exactly the same
@dylanjericho92111 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Hard Sun is originally by Indio, sorry I knew that & I should have said the "Into the Wild" version was by Eddie Vedder. It's more than the opening though, I worked out the chord progression to both songs & they're very close to the same. Like I said, I like N.G., think he's a very talented song writer but musically it was too close for comfort, for me anyway, particularly since it seems from what I'm reading it's one of his most popular songs.

It does sound a lot like the stripped-down cover of Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder, but the original of the song, by Indio, is a little bit more complex
