Trivia: Noah's ark was opened in the year 1922 in Blackpool pleasure beach. and it was closed in 2008 (The year i was born). Unlike Kennywood's Noah's ark, was opened in the year 1936. Now in 2022 Blackpool pleasure beach's Noah's ark is celebrating it's 100th anniversary.

ilovelions4life It hasn’t gone. It is standing but not operating. I believe it is grade II listed so they can’t get rid of it.

To me, this is faaaaar more tame and comical than the 1996-2016 revision of the Noah's Ark in Kennywood (now considered the last operating Noah's Ark). During this phase of the Ark's life, the ride begins by walking into an abandoned elevator shaft, going past pits with skeletons, walking aboard the ark where it mostly had a dark feel to it, and it ends with being "trapped" in a bathysphere while it "takes in" water. All while nothing plays, but ambiance and the infamous chill of the whistle This version doesn't exist anymore, but you can find it here on KZbin

It feels like they’ve shut a lot of good rides... this, space invader, goldmine, wild mouse (not that I went on it lol), the walk through haunted house, dodgems, those big swinging arms on the bridge, the whip... they got rid of all of those (and more) but replaced very few... only goldmine was replaced with the Wallace and Grommit ride which wasn’t as good. Instead they put in Nickelodeon land and a load of other weird branded stuff rather than keep its independent vibe. They also replaced some of it with literally nothing just empty space. Also they ruined Valhalla by toning down the fire and ice etc now it just feels like another dark ride, and they took an extra car off the Pepsi max which means there’s always a massive queue. Personally I think it’s gone downhill a bit

this video makes me go cold, I used to love this ride as a kid but at the same time it used to freak the hell out of me? IDEK. I was hoping it would still be there so I could live the horror again in August. I used to sit on that table that went up and down as a kid XD The whole ride also seemed a lot bigger in my memories, I guess I've become a lot bigger since then myself XD

+Rin Kokonoe I feel the same way! Used to love it but at the same time when i was on it was extremely creepy for some reason. I think its just the old look and feel to the interior. Was just creepy. It was a death trap though, me and friends slipped down the stairs many-a times!

I just checked this video out for the first time because it resides in my memory as a nightmare I thought didn't exist. I visited in the 80s and recall darkness, unstable surfaces which seemed to make creepy noises and a complete sense of being isolated and vulnerable. All things you aspire to achieve in a fun ride for kids,lol

I remember going on that when I was young (if it's the same one) and being petrified of the dark bits, we could see a tiget (or something scary animal) and was too scared to go any further, that included several other "younger" guests.

If you ever journey across the pond we still have a fully functional Noah's Ark at Kennywood by Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. They did a nice refurbishment of it just two years ago....I think that technically it is the last one still running now that yours is closed.

According to Amanda Thompson Noah's Ark will be a museum showcasing the parks history. I personally think they should reopen this attraction

Christian Moss I've heard that the reason why they closed Noah's Ark was due to a lack of fire exits. Not sure if that's true though. I was at the Pleasure Beach yesterday and I wish it was still an attraction

Slight museum - mainly a ticket inspection point now, allowing a small part of the park at the front to still be free to enter. The ark visually looks more beautiful now than I recall it being for many years as a ride.

Noah's arch 1975 I was the youngest of three and while my sister and brother were going on the older rides this was perfect for me, I loved this fun house type walk around the most memorable was the moving floors and dark titled corridors such simple fun. Wonderful memories

Agreed. It was a simple ride. But I found the dank atmosphere inside with the moving floors and titled corridors quite thrilling when I was 8.

I remember only going on it once as a kid (I was 10 when it closed so I don't have that many memories of it) but I can remember the inside of the Ark being very dark and the circle platforms you would cross to get onto the Ark. It's sad that it closed.

🙂 This was one of my favourites. Which is quite remarkable considering it didn't really do anything (apart from the thrilling moving walkways and stairs). First went in around 1978. Last visit was 1983. Would always make a beeline here. I do remember being scared. It was dark, and you felt vulnerable in the dank underbelly of the rocking creaking boat. It was like being in some alternative universe, to all the fun in the sun in the rest of the pleasure beach. A very odd "ride". But I loved it regardless.

It seems (talking to staff) that it will not meet health and safety now,if there was a fire it would be very hard in some places to get out.After saying that it had been open from 1922 till end of season 2008 without any real problems.
