Just for wrestled Kobashi & Misawa makes Joe a living wrestling legend
@raynwolfsbane20844 ай бұрын
Absolutely. It's a shame we never got to see either Misawa or Kobashi face guys like Sting, Bret Hart, Undertaker or Kane.

Samoa Joe wrestled with both Kenta Kobashi and Misawa, arguably the two greatest of all time. And he's pretty good too, a really serious wrestler and, despite his appearance, a real sportsman.
@christianpipes2110 Жыл бұрын
“Pretty good” would be a huge understatement. He’s without question one of the goats, period.

you could make the argument that joe's build was more of an advantage than a hinderance, cause when you watch samoa joe for the first time, you'd never expect a near 300 pounder to move like a crusierweight

Definitely one of Misawa's best matches from the last few years of his life. The one where he won the title from Marufuji and the one where he defended against KENTA in ROH were both also incredible imo

submission spectacle turned into vicious elbows, I love it.
Compared to the work Joe was doing around this time and the few years prior in TNA, you could tell Joe was working a little soft with Misawa. It doesn’t do anything to sour the match, it’s just a bit different from how Joe was kicking the crap out Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles. I do like how Joe let Misawa stiff the hell out of his shots. They made each other look fantastic.
@wilfred_ho4 жыл бұрын
It's hard not to draw comparisons to Joe/Kobashi, since Misawa is also one of the pillars of Puro. Sadly, Misawa at this point was carrying a lot on his shoulders when he should have been winding down; he was in no shape to carry NOAH as the GHC champion when he won the title the previous year, let alone administrate and champion the company at the same time. Maybe Marufuji needed more time, maybe it should have been Morishima's time, Shiozaki has always been a good worker; I guess we'll never know. I'm glad we were able to get this match, and I hope it can be viewed in isolation from his past glories.

Samoa Joe, the only WWE wrestler who can claim to have fought with both Misawa and Kobashi. Yet WWE still pushes Boreman Lames over Joe.
@glockaveli62117 жыл бұрын
What an autistic comment, the fact that you unironically use "Boreman Lames" just shows how much of an aspie you are. Your argument is fucking ignorant as well, facing two people doesn't automatically mean they should be pushed. Erick Rowan faced The Rock at WM, does that mean he should be pushed? Before you press your fat little fingers on your mother's iPad and say "he's better than Boreman Lames xD" you know the answer is he shouldn't.
@matthewpham5287 жыл бұрын
The fact that Samoa Joe had highly rated matches with Kobashi and Misawa proves that Joe is one of the elite in ring workers in the world. Joe held his own against Kobashi and Misawa in entertaining matches. You can't compare that Erick Rowan's match with the Rock. Erick Rowan lost to the match against the Rock in a squash match that lasted 6 seconds. Obviously Rowan's match with the Rock wasn't meant to elevate Rowan or push him. In fact, the squash match further proved that WWE sees Rowan as an undercard jobber and harmed the credibility of the Wyatt Family. Rowan's match with the Rock was never meant to be taken seriously, while Samoa Joe's matches with Kobashi/Misawa were main event matches. Don't you have anything better to do than thinking your're a smartass? Why don't you jerk off to pictures of Roman Reigns you miserable faggot
@Colt2OO27 жыл бұрын
Dean Falsetto and yet you say his comment was autistic. like he said, Joe fought two of the greatest, and even thought he lost both, he elevated his status by holding his own and showed that he belongs as a main eventer. but just wondering, why bring up the rowan squash match? it's not like anyone cared about that or wanted to remember it anyway. and about roman, I'm fine with him, but he does need a heel turn. how about you stop complaining about non wwe stuff and maybe watch something else for a change?
@arthurdsouza107 жыл бұрын
if he would had been in wwe he wouldn't get the respect what he got now he with other indie guys fought wars and then came to the WWE which made WWE desperate to sign them and as for Roman he needs more improvement u cant say hes great and u defiantly can't compare Joe's matches With Rowans match with the Rock it was a joke....

Samoa Joe in his prime a few years before TNA buried him under the Hogan-Bishoff regime. Also Misawa pins Joe clean here just 2 years before his in ring death from a belly to back suplex. And Japanese fans are far more respectful than the ignorant North Americans who cheer you one week and turn on you the next for no real reason.

The leg slap in the corner at 8:45 with the running knee literally took you out of the whole experience. If you're going to leg slap, at least do it with the other leg nobody is looking at, he could have disguised is just before grabbiing the rope. Shawn Michaels was great at utilising leg slap with Sweet Chin, you really had to be looking for it to notice. Samoa Joe is great to watch, but he spoilt all his work here for me just by doing that one thing.
