I think it's anxiety of not being here, we won't see any of this, we're completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of the universe and as self-important as we think we are (in our everyday lives) we're not. Knowing I won't be here is anxiety inducing, but also relieving at the same time. Life is very weird, the fact we have so many unanswered questions about how/why we (and the universe) exists in the first place is mind blowing and I can see how that'd be scary.

This really put it into perspective. First I thought, “dang, everyone I love is going to die and I’m gonna have to go through that pain. Then, I thought, “wow, the earth really keeps going after you die”. Then, I thought “wow, the earth will even die one day”. Then finally, I came to the realization that time keeps going without the sun, moon, stars. Everything. Even when black holes evaporate, the molecules are still there bouncing back and forth, and it’s an endless cycle. Time goes on without all of us here to spend it.
