I don't have any experience with the Powerbass XL. Powerbass XL has less wires to run so the installation would be easier.

I used a 1 1/2" square tubing cut it 4 inches long. Bolted the sub to the tubing and the tubing to the frame.

How loud is it while driving can people hear it as you drive by

Yes it's super loud and the people can hear it around you. I do have the speakers facing forward. I think they make a 4 speaker one sub set up that is louder.

Does sub actually produce base that’s worth it?

Works pretty good for being a shallow mount enclosed box and waterproof. It would not measure up against any ported box system

Yeah it bumps good for being just one and a shallow enclosed box.

There is absolutely no reason why someone should have this loud system playing in an atv right next to their ear. You cant hear the person your sitting beside.
