Edit: Its even funnier now that i realize that the Monkey King has a thing for speaking only in rhymes, the mogu probably thought he was in some kind of sick hell (or mogu equivalent).

Yep, just as the Loa are for a large part. Baron Samedi and Hakkar I think as exceptions on top of my head. The further the story goes, the more you can group stuff together for while looking different, essentially being the same. For example the Mogu are the same as the Vrykul in their original stone forms: Keeper servants.

I actually just recently got around to playing Brewmaster more (I played it a lot in WoD and was disappointed in the changes in Legion at first), and I gotta say the spec is growing on me again. Maybe they buffed it over the last couple of balance patches, I don't feel quite as fragile as I do on my Blood DK and with the right Artifact trait path (going for that one that gives you free health orbs at 35% health quickly that is) I can still manage my health and brews. It's a challenging spec for sure like it's always been, but I feel like I'm getting more reward for the effort now.

buldren0101 that's exactly how I was. I loved ww monk in mop and wod but wasn't a fan of brewmaster. I played frost dk which got nerfed to the ground leading me back to my monk roots but decided to spec into brewmaster which is so fun.

I was extremely disappointed in the MW changes for Legion, since it was my main spec in WoD. So I decided to start playing Brewmaster. Really liking it, because as you said, it's a bit challenging, but full of potential if played correctly

Excellent story! I just wish that Blizzard would also accept all the other Monk sub-cultures that aren't Pandaren. A human/undead Monk, trained as a fighting priest is different from the Pandaren Monk. A Shadowspeaker Draenei is different from the Pandaren Monk. A Night Elven Monk (who prays to Elune) is differrent from the Pandaren Monk, too... I wish we could have some diversity in this class. It doesn't all have to be Pandas-themed. It feels really dumb on my non-Padaren Monks to summon pandaren-themed entities. >.

Epyrian I believe as far as lore is concerned. That the pandaren were the first and only to master this form of combat. When the mist parted and we came to their land, they then offered to teach the other races. Put simply there weren't other monks.

Subvaries The problem with that is that the Scarlet Crusade has had Monks within their order since 2004 (Classic WoW), and in TBC, we saw Draenei Monks within Auchindoun. It sucks that those guys are not represented at all. It also feels extremely jarring to have my Night Elf Monk summon Pandaren-themed things... Instead of the jade statue, he should summon an emerald dragon or maybe even the statue of the first night elven priestess. My Undead Monk (in my mind is an ex scarlet monk). As an undead, she should be healing via shadow magic, and instead of a jade statue, she should be able to summon a plague cauldron. Give us some cosmetic glyphs that help distinguish each race's interpretation of "Monk."

We are indeed as players only the types trained by the first pandaren explorers who left the wandering isle since the disappearance of the mist. While more orders open would be nice, it's sadly doubtfull to happen. Just as that they are very reluctant with other classes having racial variants. So far only paladins have had so and even that was limited.

Eucep Yeah... that sucks. Clearly, there were Monks way before the Pandaren came. I'd love for them to allow us to play as that. Human Monks have existed in Scarlet Crusade since Classic, and Draenei Monks have existed since TBC.

Not likely, there were more wild gods that did not partake in those fights due to distance (think the Loa in Zul'Drak). Their spirits in the emerald dream is possible, but it's unknown how easy the dream is to access from Pandaria, but I would expect it's no different.

Well the whole shtick with Mistweaver is they're all about peace and serenity. And Brewmasters are basically just trolling everyone by getting drunk in fights. Windwalkers are the only monks that focus solely on combat.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh i love monks idk why I don't see more of them but I play by myself so, I play damage so it bothers me how much more i like the stories for brewmaster and mist weaver monks mist weavers get this staff that was used to free Pandaria from the Mogu and then later used to save it from the sundering brew masters get a staff made by the titan keeper Freya and is later passed to one of my favorite Pandaria characters the monkey king and wind walker monks get these hand things made by some guy in Northrend that channeled powers of storms the only real connection it has to Pandaria is that Li LI and her uncle heard about it if it channels storm power and all that why not say it belonged to Lei-Shen or something THAT would be cool and ACTUALLY CONNECTED TO PANDARIA but whatever I'm just a bitchy person in the comment section that needed to vent ALSO IF YOU READ ALL OF THIS GOOD FOR YOU, GO INTO THE KITCHEN AND GET YOURSELF A COOKIE

Nope, on the original Monkey King from The Journey to the West, at least from what I remember that one also tended to speak in rhyme. Something he did to constantly prove he was smarter then others. Toss in hozen speech of wow and you got the wow variant of the Monkey King.
