Sometimes the stupidity of WoW's writing team is staggering. They could have the San'layn as a Horde allied race instead of the Nightborne. It makes sense in so many levels. Former Blood Elves. Unique breed of undead. They have already been given a backstory that would be more than enough for an allied race. They fit the Horde much better than the Nightborne. The Nightborne based on their introduction in Legion work better as a neutral race. With the Nightborne and the Hoghmountain Tauren the Horde controls much of the Broken Isles. With the Highmountain Tauren alone this issue doesn't exist. The Nightborne give the Horde a massive city at the scale of Dazar'alor or Boralus. The San'layn don't even have a permanent base.

As a horde player and a death knight, I am excited to hopefully get the san layn as an allied race since Death knights usually get shafted when it comes to allied races (Since being undead and all). The san layn leader was pretty cool, little sad he was killed in the ally campaign. Hopefully blizz actually makes these undead vampire elves able to be DKs since they would be perfect blood Dks. Thank you for showing the alliance side Nobbel, the horde players were below the water during the attack looking for a special prize of the Kul Tirans (No spoilers ;) ), and when we come back up we just see dead gryphons and nathanos saying we lost our 2nd ship and that we had "unexpected guests".

Void is actually a dead light and as a servant of the light, I am also the servant of the dead light. Furthermore, for me it doesnt matter what kind of force you are messing with, what matters is that what will you do with it. Demon hunters, shadow priests, death knights and Warlocks that are hailed as heroes of azeroth(you as the player) are a great great example of this.

Valanar, Taldaram and Keleseth were all killed in quests/dungeons, were all also blood princes, and were easily brought back to life to serve as the Blood Prince Council raid boss in ICC. And because of what? Some blood orb artifact thingy?("With the power of the orb, Valanar will have his vengeance!") As we've already witnessed in Legion through the Frost DK and Fire Mage artifact questlines, LK Bolvar doesn't seem to care who goes into his castle and takes his artifacts, as long as he gets to torture them along the way. So this means that Sylvanas has to go play with the Lich King to get her vampire prince back. Hm... This smells like it could make a fun scenario. And then Sylvie could just lord it over said blood prince for the rest of his existence. "Actually... if it weren't for me, you'd still be dead. Now shut up and follow orders." Based on his dialogue on the boat and in Nazmir, Dreven would probably hate this and do everything in his power to ensure Sylvanas' fall. The rest of the Horde would be like, "Huh... even this monster thinks Sylvanas is being dishonorable. Even the san'layn prince wants to kill her." And meanwhile, Dreven would be steepling his fingers like a supervillain in the background, because he's convinced everyone that his people should belong and not to hunt/kill them as long they only drink the Alliance, and gets to get his revenge on Sylvanas... even though she resurrected him... just because he doesn't like her attitude. Perhaps it's an extrapolation too far on my part, but it does sound like the way someone who said, "I knew their names when I killed them. It added to appeal," would be. My thoughts are 7 months late though, so chances are, no one is going to read them.

The most interesting part for me is the fact that I can't recall seeing any San'layn during the questlines in any zone... huh... But regardless, "how far they have fallen", um... its not like they are plain evil because they are undead or drink blood. I mean, not that it is a nice thing to do, but blow up bases, stab someone with a dagger, split the skull with a hammer or shoot several arrows into someone until they die... ehm... I do think it depends more on the agenda why you kill, in the end, killing can be seen as an evil act in the first place. We have seen that even Naaru are capable on actions that can't be considered "good", and they are "the light", right?

Ok, I have a question about the Alliance war campaign and how little sense it makes. The Alliance just decided to start more fights with the Horde instead of strengthening their defenses (which would be the smarter choice) after they got their asses handed to them by the Horde in offensive fights with so fewer troops they should've been ashamed. Yes, Sylvanas uses messed up tactics, but if she thought the Alliance we becoming that big of a threat couldn't she just drop a plague bomb on Kul'tiras while they are off trying to stop what we are doing? Sylvanas has shown that she will do what it takes to win a war, while the Alliance are trying to invade somewhere that has a death god more or less defending it? Something doesn't like it's going to go well for the Alliance. The Zandalari/Horde have Vol'jin somewhere with what has been hinted at as being as strong as a loa and sylvanas who is literally just waiting for the Alliance to give her a reason (in my opinion) to wipe out more of their troops in "defense".

I think what’s irritating is that, once again, the horde is being made the villains in this conflict between the two. There’s almost nothing that shows the alliance has to take steps that force them to do things that may not be morally perfect. They’re so goody two shoes that it’s practically nauseating at times. On the same token, what frustrates me the most as a horde player is how seemingly complacent and near completely apathetic the greater part of the horde is about the horrorific acts that Sylvanus have been committing. Collectively, a grand majority of the horde opposed Garrosh and his psychotic plans. This time though, just crickets save for Saurfang and to some extent Baine.

No one of us is more valuable than the other." - Shandris some time after the burning of Teldressil I understand this line is supposed to represent Alliance unity but in the wake of Teldressil it looks really really awful. It comes off less like a natural moment of unity and looks a lot more like Shandris is either fool or willfully ignoring recent events. In either case I blame the writer for putting us in this situation. While Shandris later in the story is better this almost past forgiveness as a leader of a people who has just endured major casualties, both civilian and militarily, is casually brushing off that her ambush just cost the lives of her entire squad.

What's wrong with showing that Shandris is not arrogant like some other elves, and that she values the life of humans as much as the life of any other race in the Alliance? Also, how does she just "brush off" that the ambush cost the lives of her squad? You can clearly see how hurt she is by how much she want to get back at Dreven and how much she hates him. She even mentions the fact that she's going to give her sentinels proper burial, which is something that Blizzard could have easily skipped. I mean, for christ sake.

the camp was supposed to be abandoned, when the zandalari go to investigate about the ship, there should be no one there. if i remember correctly the zandalari knows about the camp in their perspective. so that could leave the zandalari confused, they would not expect to be the alliance. or that is my headcanon :p

I don't really know how to feel about the war campaigns. The Raids usually tell the story of the expansions and right now the two raids we are gonna get have us dealing with Old Gods and Naga. This makes me feel like this story is sort of out of place. Only the Horde has actual context for what is in Uldir and it feels odd. However the campaign is very good, just feels out of place.

like what ? 1 part sneaking around a small harbour and saboutage (which wasnt that big of a deal tbh) 2. part was "hey sneak around this graveyard and steal 1 body 3 part stormsong adventure 4. part diving leasons + rising that 1 body (which can have a big possibilitiy but i dont belive it) 5. part "lets provoke the proundmores and destory 2 ships and the risen got killed ... (and the possibliity wasnt used) did i miss something ? (remember i tryed not to spoil the story so only rough points) the "possibility" can create some problems but i dont thinik so all in all we saboutage a small habour (which can be fixed easily) and destroyed 2 ships (dont get me wrong the campgain was funny (in sometings a morbit way) but it fell unimpactfull

Actually you never blew the bombs on the other ships, just blew up that one..... You have set bombs on the Zandalari Ships for future use though, good job for that. You also stole important intel on their fleet, just like the Horde got on the Kul Tiran fleet. Killing the Leader of the Explorer's League isn't really that big of a to do, they're not military, so good job on killing Civvies(there and at Gallywix's Pleasure Palace, btw that one is called Terrorism). You also did kill Blood Prince Dreven, but the San'layn aren't an official part of the Horde yet, we don't even get to see them on our side, so that is truly interesting. On the other hand yeah, we now have a Tidesage, who could potentially give us other Tidesages, we have intel on your fleet as well, we have the Body of the First Born Prince of Kul Tiras, and we stole a powerful Tidesage Artifact.

Why is the San'layn still in the Alliance storyline but totally removed on the Horde side? I figured that it was going to show up later only to find out that it is in the game but only Alliance get to know anything about it.

Thomas Shannon maybe because Sylvanas is going to great lengths to conceal their activities on the horde side? I’m a die hard horde player and I wouldn’t be shocked if that was he case. She’s not exactly been forthcoming with what she’s been planning lately

There's also stuff that happens in Horde quest that don't get mentioned during Alliance Quests. For example, there's not one mention of the burning of Stormwind or the chase after Talanji, instead for some reason Blizz wanted the Alliance BFA introduction to be "they have good ships, go get us good ships". Hell, they even used part of the Horde cutscene where you get back to Zuldazar, but only the part where the Zandalari ships blow up the Alliance ones. No other context.

Dreven and his San'layn were even killing some Horde troops to aquire blood and started turning some Blood Elves into San'layn, so it's no surprise Sylvanas wouldn't inform the majority. @H. J.: Probably because Alliance part starts after they escape? Although still weird it isn't at least mentioned.
