I wonder if there is a reason where this cruelity comes from except the current injust system and war. Is it the late effect of genocide and crimes committed from Belgians some generations later. Living In Europe I got the impression that many things e.g. so to say "injuries of people" are not solved just by passing of time.

As long as women are the true victims of war we need men like Denis Mukwege to speak out for us like he does and has done for a long time. Never before has a Peace Prize been more justly awarded. What a speech! What a man! I respect you with all my heart and soul.

I watched this twice in the past year. It is difficult to hold in my tears. The struggles faced where I live versus most parts of the world are nearly incomparable. I often see people struggle to help a coworker out of being bullied, or a child being yelled at. Hearing what this man has said brings me mass comfort. He is able to do what is right in a place with much difficulty and fear. His speech along with most of the Peace prize laureates, remind me of what people need to be. I’m blessed to be capable of watching this in comfort. His speech is great fuel for betterment. Bless this man and all like him.

I've known of this great man's work for a few years now. He never fails to move me. He exemplifies what we need our institutions to understand. That it's excavation of world resources comes at a horrific cost to the poor and weak, women, children and others. Mineral resources are sought world wide. Desolation and violence are the price. In awe of Sir Denis Mukwege. 😢😢😢

Bcs from being Congolese myself I hope and pray that our story, my precious Congo story and its struggles will be one day told, recognize and prized for it sacrifices, it pain, suffer, it cry and tears that is forgotten by the God, world and the humanity. Bcs from being the most richest country in the planet to the most poores population in the world . I’m praying Oprah will help this angel’s message as a means to rescue all victims and create a new paradigm. The world is responsible for allowing such atrocities to happen under our noses. Even worse to capitalize on it. My heart aches for the victims he spoke about and even more for those who can not be rescued as we sit in our air conditioned homes or offices. Women need to rise up and take the role of alpha now. Let’s engage our inner momma bear and end sexual violence now!

Andy Jiao hard to say... it’s hard to say that this is real or just a claim made to project another black token as a Nobel Peace prize winner.. it seems they are becoming more and more political in terms to actual candidates over the years... Obama got one just for being a black president but yet he made no positive impact to our society... they also had Hitler as a Nobel Peace recipient... it’s hard to say if Nobel peace prize is actually a symbol of scholarly earning or a established reward given to people who make claims of Nobel causes... I’m sure there will be sex trafficking in Africa because slave trafficking is still happening in Africans the Middle East...

@jeremiahjohnson15133 ай бұрын
Sadly, that happens in all wars but the sexual violence in Africa is on another scale entirely. Unlike other wars where rape is a byproduct, it seems like African men wage war on women themselves. In many regions, 90% of women have been raped, even areas where there is no active war going on. Even babies get raped. Many women are mutilated and tortured in hideous ways, many are killed in remote areas and we never know it happened.
