Just the right amount of rawness that is evenly so without struggling wasting time to dial in the tone and saturation you've been looking for. My pedal since it came out.🌋

My go to OD pedal. Around 4:20 is the sweet spot if you want to roll off the volume to clean it up. I run a compressor in front to give it some more clarity, snap, and evenness. Not my only OD but this one cuts through the best. Different when you play with the other instruments in the mix and this one dos the trick. A studio session essential. If you run an EQ in the FX loop of the amp it’ll give it even more boost. But through cranked tube is where this thing really shines. Love your tone man.

Thank you! Never thought of running an EQ in the FX loop 🤔

12:46 a tube screamer before the nobels is really great, after it not so much (the pedal at the end of the chain is coloring the most, and you want that to be the nobels!)

Will try it! Thank you! Honestly nobels before or after anything is a huge win haha

I have my mini green pedal coming in the mail, i feel it’s not going to replace a pedal I have because it’s pretty different, so it’s a pedal to keep around for a different sound, you just need this pedal to complete the overdrive pallet. Timmy, OCD, klon, king of tone, tube screamer (Bonsai) and rat have all lived or living on my board
@BuddyBlues3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. It gets confused a lot with other od's because of its color but it really is in a league of its own
@ihaveaproblem31533 жыл бұрын
@@BuddyBlues yeah I played with it last night, it’s not great for chords because of the amount bass it gets muffled, soloing it’s pretty interesting, I paired it with a klon and I had so much sustain, I only have a katana at home, I’m going to run it into a cranked old school Marshall and music man on Friday and see what it’s like.

I agree with your gain statement. It seems that after 11 o'clock the gain gets raspy. But what do I know, I am just hearing it through youtubeland. It sounds fantastic on the lower gain settings. Nice playing too.

Enjoyed the video and subscribed. I’ve been using the mini after the wampler tumnus. Also use a boost before the tumnus for solo drive or add the nobels mini which is after the tumnus for solo drive. Any thoughts?

I own a full size and a Mini, i might actually like the mini slightly better? I have mine set with low gain just after my Klone. To my ears they work well together.
@austinfailz3 жыл бұрын
What’s the difference? I mean besides form factor. I kind of want one to pair with my TS Mini or Mooer OCD clone.
@johnhubbs3 жыл бұрын
@@austinfailz I would say that the mini seems to have a little more low end and maybe just a touch less headroom if you want to have a drive before it. The bass-cut on the larger one is a nice option if your sound become too muddled. That being said I am still happy using either one.

I know this is an old video but what’s your favorite setting on this pedal when playing on the Strat bridge pickup?
@BuddyBlues8 ай бұрын
Level about unity with the clean guitar tone, I don’t like a noticeable volume jump on stage. Gain about 2 oclock, and tone around the 11 oclock mark. Ultimate sweetness

I had the full size ODR-1 and subsequently sold it on Reverb. It did not stand out compared to my other pedals and it did not make my Fender Princeton (or my other pedals) sound better. I never used it.

Same here. I love many of the ODR-1 devotees so I thought I'd give the mini a try, didn't do anything for me...but they all have originals, pro modded, etc. I subsequently picked up a used J Rockett GTO, which is based on an ODR, and I love it.
@RulgertGhostalker11 ай бұрын
with the spectrum more ccw, it sounds more tube sreamerish to me .... i don't know how your not hearing that, it sounds klon meets screamer to me.. i Doesn't sound like either Exactly, but more like klon with spectrum noon and ccw a little ways, then more screamer further ccw ... where going cw of noon it's more it's own thing.
