Sweet man. I think you’ve swayed me. I ride Noco and highland a ton and blow through rear wheels.. my buddy broke a couple of carbons (light bikes though) so I was put off except the Santa Cruz reserves. But these look better and are cheaper/more customizable. See ya on the trail sometime! (Also riding a teal mega 🤘🏼)

9:56 that's a big time hit right there and those rims (props to that 36 too) ate it up. I like what Nobl is doing and their online wheel builder and customer service are fantastic ... With a full warranty, carbon rims might not only be better, but they're often more affordable if you're going through alloy wheels fairly regularly.
@PedalingDave2 жыл бұрын
I hope to buy a set this year and I have to say, with your aggressive riding style I'm just a tad surprised you went with D'Light spokes instead of the slightly bigger race spokes. Cool. Saves a little weight and apparently plenty strong enough.
@MTBTravelReview2 жыл бұрын
I just can’t seem to destroy mine, so you will have no regrets! Honestly, the D’light spokes were their recommendation, so I trusted than judgement and no major issues. The spokes definitely started to go all at once after like 6-8 months, but that’s not bad, IMO. Rims were still flawless.
@PedalingDave2 жыл бұрын
@@MTBTravelReview Breaking or just needing tension at 6-8 months? Also, did you also go with alloy spoke nipples? I tend to use brass for the tough factor.
@MTBTravelReview2 жыл бұрын
@@PedalingDave little of both. Haha. I’m not great at keeping an eye on spike tension and they caught some rocks, so it’s pretty normal for me to do a spoke swap every 6-8 months. Brass nipples look rad! I haven’t tried them, yet, but I guess I should, ey?

@@MTBTravelReview looking forward to the long term review as I'm also on the verge of buying em ... I'm in PA so ride similar terrain, but my concern is when i take it to Mountain Creek. I'm only 155lbs and don't do a ton of tech, but I've been sold on the idea for so long that for park/enduro, alloy rims are better, so its been a tough decision. And I don't ride nearly as hard as you and could get 2-3 years from a good alloy rim. I think the warranty might be the deciding factor though. It's nice you only pay shipping and they're actually reasonably priced ... plus they look sick!

What swayed you away from the wider TR41? What tire size you running? I’m considering them for my hardtail on double black diamond trails with 2.6” wide tires. Would love to know what you think about going TR41 vs TR37.
@MTBTravelReview2 жыл бұрын
I weigh 190lbs, so the TR41s are unnecessary. I’d only recommend them for heavier guys. I run 2.4 or 2.5 tires. TR41s on a hard tail are overkill, IMO. As are 2.6” tires, but that’s just my opinion.
@leefunkera2 жыл бұрын
@@MTBTravelReview Thanks for sharing your take, it’s interesting to see a different perspective. Great video btw, I’m sold on these Nobl’s thanks to it. I guess the TR41 is unnecessary for you because you’re on full squish! I should have mentioned this is not a normal XC hardtail! It’s a burly slack trail/AM HT that can get rowdy and go down the chunky steeps. I think wider tires >= 2.6” on a wider rim would be better as the greater volume at less pressure would sort of act like a suspension for a HT, thus making the TR41 a better match. I guess I wanted you to say TR41 is the better choice to support my decision lol! Check out Steve over at the Hardtail Party channel - he highly recommends the 29” 2.6” - 3.0” plus tires on hardtails. Riding double black diamond trails at Sedona are no joke!
