It's no use learning the language of ancestors if you live far away from your ancestors land. We should come back our real home. It's really sad this situation.... The cousins of my mother live in Canada and Australia since 40 years but they and they're sons want come back in Europe (Ireland and Italy)....but the poverty is a problem...it's not right....

It also gives you a connection to your roots, and you'll be able to talk to people and understand more of the culture if you ever do go back to your ancestors' land. It might not be as practical to study a language if you don't need to use it every day, but I'd say it's still plenty useful.
