I mean in terms of hanging out yes David Gilmour seems like he’d be more of a relatable guy. I just always saw him as a guitar player and a guitar player only. I think that Roger absolutely kills it with his lyrics, and is pretty great with making the music, David definitely gave him that extra bit of magic to make the music stand on its own though. I mean really how can you pick? Im just on team Floyd.

I have heard the hype around the Japanese pressings for years and I wanted to hear what it was all about, so I managed to find the same pressing of DSOTM in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) at a store called Tiny Record Shop. The obi, jacket, and vinyl itself are mint (looked unplayed) but it didn't come with the booklet or inserts. I managed to get a great price on it since it didn't come with those, and I was STUNNED by the difference in sound vs. the 2016 reissues (which also sound great, but wow does this one come out on top). The shop owner makes several digging trips to Japan every year and they have an entire section dedicated to Japanese pressings.

Very solid Floyd collection! I would say Pink Floyd is one of the few bands I collect that I have a rather wide variety of pressings. I have OGs copies of the older albums that I keep for collector’s sake but my go to copies are the recent reissues and that reissue campaign was one that was executed extremely well. In terms of bootlegs, i think I have more floyd bootlegs than actual official releases! Floyd bootlegs for me are kinda an impulse thing. If I know what if is and there’s something that I don’t have, I just fall for it. Cheers and stay safe!

There has been a lot of Floyd bootlegs flooding into the market, some have an incredible sound. I keep buying the bootlegs as I find them. I agree about Gilmour, incredible guitarist and is my favorite. Wish You Were Here is by far my favorite though I do like that early stuff, lot of fun. Amazing how they did the colored vinyl way back when I was young. Thank you for doing this, I really enjoyed it.

The one bootleg I really want is Oink, Oink, Woof, Woof, Baaaa. This is the concert where the incident where Roger Waters, after being severely irritated through the whole show, ended up spitting on a fan in the crowd. This incident, alongside the whole tour, gave birth to the inspiration behind The Wall.

Great Video my man badasssss collection of the greatest music ever created from beginning to end no one can touch the musical quality of the Floyd (all era’s) but I must agree that WYWH is the desert island album for me. The music is simply timeless, simply magical... transcendent. When I was 17 I found a used copy of DSOTM at my local record shop and nearly crapped myself cuz it had the two posters and two stickers still inside, it was the coolest thing I’ve ever found at a record store.

Hi Dillon, Great video as always - I was playing my Meddle UK original copy the other day and then decided to get a Japanese copy of it from Discogs and you have just showed the same copy with the grey OBI. I have a few other Japanese Floyd pressings but I want the Piper Japanese original which is mega money to buy. I have an original UK Piper in mono and stereo though but not in top shape unfortunately. Best album to start early Floyd with is the UK copy of Relics as it has mostof its tracks form the Syd era. All those bootlegs you showed, expensive to get them all! Cheers, Paul

two of my favorite Floyd albums in my collection are a copy of Wish You Were Here in M(-) condition with the original dark blue shrink (and hype sticker, of course) and a 1978 pressing of Dark Side of the Moon on white vinyl (probably M- to NM+[+]) from Holland - both sound amazing. My all-time favorite album (Pink Floyd or otherwise) is Animals. I bought a 1977 Canadian pressing in unplayed condition a while back - I played it last weekend (loud!) to remind me just how incredible it is. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a pink copy of Animals that's for sure. I don't have a massive collection so multiple copies of the same album are fine by me :^)

Nothing gets me thru the quarantine process at my house quicker than a Noble Records video. I LOVE Pink Floyd and your collection is stellar...I also think the Japanese pressings sound the best. I finally stumbled across an original Japanese pressing of Animals at a record show in Denver a couple of years ago. Funny side not on these pressings is the lyric sheets and the typos....have a Van Halen 2 and the translation of Ice Cream Man and a few other songs are hilarious...obviously done from someone who was not affluent in the language....hilarious! The only thing that I can not appreciate and I am definitely in the minority...the Syd Barret era....have tried for 20 years and still think he is SOOO overrated ....I don't get that genius talk....even purchased both solo albums and sold them both after listening...I don't get it 🤔🤔 Anyways keep the videos coming... Typo correction: Ice Cream Man was off my VH 1.....Light up the Sky and DOA lyric typos were off of VH 2....my bad 🤷🏻♂️

3:05 I think more is great. Green is the colour and cymbaline are just wonderfull melodic songs. I think they're peacefull songs that show off the early Gilmour influence. Mike song is one of the heaviest Pink Floyd songs that doesn't get much attention but it is sure is a rocker. It has a rambunctious garage rock style that they only repeated again on free four on the "obsecured by clouds" soundtrack

On the half speed Masters, do you have to play the record at 16 RPMs?
@yyman234 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott, no - it's how they master it. Half speed mastering on a basic level does exactly what it says in the description. A 33rpm acetate is cut at 16 2/3rpm with the master recording slowed down appropriately so that the record still sounds normal when played at the correct speed. It's supposedly sounds better.
