Kagame makes valid points. His first being that an entire situation must be assessed before you can conclude. His second being that foreign countries concept of democracy is not a gold standard. Countries can form their own versions. And his third comment is that other countries must respect the sovereign rights and choices that citizens of each country decides upon. If the Rwandans form or version of Democracy equals a president can have as long a term as he is elected too, that is Rwanda's decision to make, not Europe, and certainly not the US. Western countries need to leave their imperialists views at home.

I have a question to ask President Kagame in line with the recent and past conflicts in the DRC. He has claimed so many times that the conflicts in the DRC is among Congolese. He has denied any involvement of the Rwandan regime in backing up the M23 rebels, implying that these are Congolese fighting other Congolese. But why is he in the forefront, speaking for and claiming to give orders to M23, if he is not the power behind or supporting M23, occupying Bunagana and destabilizing the Eastern part of DRC in general? During the time of AFDL rebellion that brought the now late Laurent Désiré Kabila to power, we saw the now Kabila as a Congolese talking to the late President Mobutu under the mediation of the late President Mandela. If President Kagame is not the mastermind behind the conflict in the DRC, he should limit his involvement in the regional talks, either under the East African Community (EAC), the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) or even under the African Union (AU). By his forefront involvement in talks that negate his denials, he seems to be now like the default spokesperson of the M23. Where is the leader of the M23 if it is not him?

I pray that the DRC, Rwanda, and every rebel groups come to the negotiating table and find a peaceful solution without any western influence. On the election thing, Rwandans are wise to keep re-electing President Paul Kagame. He is working for Rwanda’s interest. I only hope that, God forbid, if anything happen to President Kagame, Rwanda does not descend in chaos.

Rwandans, wherever they are, are Rwandan citizens, as far as the Rwandan constitution is concerned. So, the FDLR are Rwandans and have every right to go back to their home country Rwanda. If they should be arrested upon arrival, so be it. Congo is only a host country following the 1994 events that unfolded in Rwanda. Those who were young and unborn then have nothing to do with what happened. They are 100% Rwandans and they need to enjoy the "peace" and the "development"of their country and be where Kagame wants every Rwandan to be. It is okay for Kagame to encourage dialogue among Congolese people, but he should also start a dialogue between Rwandans, including the FDLR. He must think about the post Kagame era, when he is no more. Rwanda will be better off if he starts now the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, like in South Africa, to heal the wounds, to make people accountable for what they did. Rwanda will never have peace without justice.

remy byiringiro, I too have noticed this, these imperialists never ask about our welfare as Africans. It is always about democracy or elections or opposition figures. It is never about basic needs. I don't trust them or their treacherous African collaborators.
