I am a very solid or even perhaps emerging advanced player and have watched hundreds of KZbin videos, plus taken live lessons. This is the absolute best lesson I have ever seen on triads and targeting specific minor notes (flat 3, etc.). Takes some brainpower and note-taking for me to really learn and absorb it all, but it is clicking - thank you and I just subscribed!

More like this, please - perfect pacing and intermediate level material. Your videos deserve an infinitely greater audience - it is quite rare indeed to find such a gifted player who is also a great teacher. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much Alex! Going through the notes is one thing but highlighting the triads and relation to the chords is pure gold. I’ve loved this since hearing it on the MTV Unplugged album 👌

Thanks Alex. Loving everything about these lessons - the look, the sounds, the level is pitched at. Thank you. My question is HOW to learn the triads and arpeggios?? Is there a systematic, methodical approach? Or does one have to just find there own way. Thanks in advance

Thanks buddy, really glad you enjoy the lessons 🙏🏻 It’s definitely a slow burn.. just take your time and work within triad “stacks” (zones) across all string sets and it will happen over time 👍🏻

Just discovered your channel and really enjoy your playing and explanations. Wondering about the context of this type of approach, playing the changes. I can imagine sitting down and writing a solo using these principles but ultimately (with a lot more practice) is this something I should be able to do on the fly during an improvisation?! So much to learn. Thanks.

Hi Daniel, thanks for your comment and for checking out my channel.. glad to have you here my friend. You’ve nailed it.. ultimately, with a lot of practice, this is how you will improvise over changes in real time. Start writing and composing solos this way, and before long it does start to happen in the moment. Remember that there are really only a small handful of chord movements in western music so once you get a feel for navigating your V-I or IV-I for example, it becomes much easier. 🙏🏻

What are triads Alex?
@AlexFarranGuitar
@AlexFarranGuitar 4 ай бұрын
Triads are the three notes that build your basic major, minor, diminished and augmented chords. ie; a C major chord would be constructed from the notes C E and G whereas C minor would be C Eb and G 👍🏻
