Loved the dramatic reading, shows someone that knows the Japan culture.

2:22:10 Actually the name of the Sanada lord who contributed to the capture of Toishi castle is Yukitaka not Ujitsuna and Murakami Yoshikiyo flees to Echigo only after he loses his Katsurao castle in 1553 two years after losing Toishijou. But overall your information is superb and I've learned a lot and really enjoyed this content. Nice to see other people who are passionate about the period.

You're right! I forgot Yukitaka's name in the moment. Thank you for the correction, and thank you for watching!

Just recently visited the area around Katsuraojou in what is now the towns of Togura, Sakaki and Chikuma a little bit north close to where the battle of Kawanakajima took place. It was a two hour hike to the Kasturao castle ruins and there's not a ton left, but you can clearly see the hori (moats) that are dug out and a little bit of the stone wall that's left. Anyway, it was a ton of fun and you can really let your imagination run wild seeing the places where the attackers (Takeda) were supposedly attacked with stones being thrown at them and so on. Unfortunately the road leading to the nearby Aratojou had experienced a land slide just few days before I arrived and was therefore cut off. I considered hiking there, but it would have been a long walk and technically the area was closed so would have had to sneak there with my own permissions. Aratojou is kind of special because it's been completely restored, it's one of the few if not the only yamajiro type castle that's been fully restored. Even though they're often translated "castle" these encampments are more like forts, there's no fancy tenshu or anything like that. They were made for war, their purpose was strategic, not to show off. Stayed at the nearby Kamesei Ryokan which is run by an American guy who knows a ton about the history and legends of the region. They also have onsen which the region is famous for. Highly recommend staying there if you're visiting the area.

Great to see someone so enthusiastic and knowledgeable covering this game. I just wish it could stay closer to history to play through the whole story without having to start new scenarios every few years and rebuild everything all over again.

17:18 Pretty sure there's an option to have the names displayed properly as Oda Nobunaga. All the names in my game are displayed properly.

The Bekki Akitsura event at 2:29:50 It's cracking me up imagining this nutty samurai laying under a scorched tree, hooting and hollering about defeating the god of thunder with his legendary blade... Then presumably having to wait for some passer-by to drag him home because he can't walk. 😅
