Nobunaga's Ambition portraits and their real life inspirations (Hojo & Imagawa Clan)

Now that the major clans are taken care of, I'm reaching the point where I think the portraits have to rely on old tales instead of old drawings or statues. I saw this coming but it came sooner than I expected.
Anyway, Kaihime was super badass and Samurai Warriors' rendition of her character didn't do her any justice at all.

Hey there, thanks for clicking on this video. Since the major clans are now taken care of, the rest of the episodes in this series will have the minor clans grouped into one video based on their geographical placements. I intend on going with central Japan (Saito, Azai, Asakura, Ashikage, etc) -> Shikoku + Saikoku (Mori, Chosokabe, Amago, etc) -> Kyushu (Shimazu family and their victims) -> northwestern Japan (Date, Sanada, Mogami, Satake, etc) Because of the numerous small clans and the increase of not that famous officers, I will probably need to spend more time researching for old tales for notes, I also just happened to want to do another side project, so this video will probably be the last one in the series I upload this year. 1:48 i see what you mean but it could be covered by the box of the portrait so it could not be a mistake on the artist part. Cuz you couldn't see the two lines to makes the Kanji for "Man" and if you can see it clearly but on the top left sise of the new portrait, you can see the bottom half of the line that connecting to the word like the picture you show on the side by side.

Given how stereotypically unsuited to a battlefield a court noble would be, and Yoshimoto's blunder at Okehazama, I feel its no surprise the more arrogant and depraved features of Yoshimotos were enhanced over the years. I'm honestly beginning to miss the older depictions of Yoshimoto, especially in NA. His newer art feel far too generic now, and have sapped the character from his portrayals. sol might have hit a sweet spot by downplaying the derogatory attributes but playing into other aspects such as being a buddhist.

I miss the older depictions of Yoshimoto sometimes too, but I guessed Koei wanted to stray away from the funny clown image that plagued Yoshimoto so much in modern medias. Can't exactly blame them for that since Yoshimoto honestly deserves better. The current ongoing Taiga Drama is about Ieyasu and Yoshimoto has quite a unique look in it, so there's a chance that the PUK will have a new portrait for Yoshimoto based on the actor, me think.

Indeed, I can't blame them for wanting to do Yoshimoto some justice, but the course correction absolutely can have the reverse effect. Heres to the latest taiga's portrayal influencing future yoshimoto designs for the better!

I think Yoshimoto's "wannabe noble" look peaked in Iron Triangle; he has the painted face but the black robes give him an air of danger, someone not to be taken lightly. IIRC, that game was also one of the few times you could fight your way out of the Okehazama event battle and survive.
