Nice to see a game that isn't too complex for families but will also scratch the itch for those of us who like strategy games. And, as always, a great video, Rodney. Thanks!

Great vid! As I mentioned in your recent video with the BGG crew, I would LOVE to see more videos of you TEACHING a game to new players like you did in that video for Res Arcana. I buy a lot of games and teach them to multiple gaming groups. Watching you teach a game, and have them return questions is incredibly insightful!! The more you teach a game to someone, the more efficient and effective you get at it, so watching a video of teaching a game will definitely make that first time teaching it go more smoothly :)

Another great video Rodney. I just wanted to ask if it’s possible to make how to play videos for older games as well, like some of the more complex classics. Thank you

I have been covering some older titles on the channel as well. More in the future to be sure.

No, it is actually the same designer of Raiders of the North Sea and Architects of the West Kingdom.

Thanks for introducing this game! Definitely another one on the buy list. Just wanted to clarify though, at 6:27 since you had three dice left, would that last unpaired dice give you a point at the end of the game or does it really have to be a pair?
@TheClyd3Man5 жыл бұрын
You score 1 point for every two dice left in unfinished jars. Color and pips don't matter.
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
It has to be a pair.

I interpreted the unused dice rules a bit differently. I recall reading that once you put all the noctiluca you can in your jars, you pass the unplayed dice to the next player. If you filled a jar, you immediately resolve and replace it with a new jar after passing the unplaced dice. We concluded then that if you got unused dice back from the other player (s) that same round, you could place a die in your new jar. The passing of unused dice and resolving filled jars were in separate parts of the rules and we didn't see this scenario explicitly addressed. Perhaps misread the rules? Anyway, thanks for the video! Wish it were up before trying this game last Friday at a local board game cafe! Found the rule book a bit unclear on a couple other things and I see I missed something in setup (5 dice in outer ring).

I heard that there is a solo mode with the board flipped? How does that work!

So, in a 2-player game, after the person who chose the dice from the pool has placed all the dice s/he can in jars, the dice pass to the second player who can place ALL the dice s/he can in jars. In the 2-player game, there is no point in passing the dice back and forth (letting the second player only choose one die at a time) since the first player has already taken all the dice s/he can place, right???
@WatchItPlayed5 жыл бұрын
Correct, there's no back and forth. The first player places everything they can, then the second player would place all that they can.
