Davey you are so correct about Nocturne. There is absolutely no need to change him. There is always someone who wants to tinker for the sake of tinkering and nothing else other than they can do it.

Dave I hope you post more Noc top builds. Since he's my main for top i like seeing people play him but it's rare when someone picks him for top lane. I found that it's very rare to lose lane with him in the top lane. Ik just about any set up and 1st item to ensure you win lane and leave lane with a lead. I know how to beat just about any match up as I've encountered them all. Here are some interesting things you could try if you ever see the opportunity . Ideal build- Eclispe Bork Black Cleaver Deaths Dance Witts. You can generally rush Bork first as it usually beats majority of match ups and gets you lead. Borks dps is the highest solo item in the game. Whether the target is tanky or squishy, Bork will outdps any item, I've tested it. However it does not scale with other items as great but having it in your build will always be beneficial as your dps will always be highest with it in it. Rush this item against fiora irelia garen etc. They will never beat you. Darius, Sett, Renekton. One item makes Nocturne destroy these champions and building the first component ensures your lead. Frozen heart. I found this item helps you cheese them early and gives you early tankyness for team fights later. Another thing about Renekton is running Pta can absolutely destroy him as if they are decent they will always poke and get away but with pta and ur spell shield u can easily outtrade him especially if you have armor. I always go ghost against Darius to ensure if he pops ghost I can wait it out with mine just to be on the sage side but once I get wardens i don't need it. Once you have frozen staying in the pocket is easy as they should never be able to kill you until they get 3 items which at that point you should have more. Vayne and Teemo- One single item makes them absolutely useless. Edge if Night. I also recommend going ghost ignite into Vayne as sometimes she can cheese you by kiting well with ghost. I also like pta into teemo as if they are smart enough to wait ur spell shield out they can outplay you if you have tempo but with pta it won't matter as ur only doing short trades anyways making them waiting it out pointless and if they hit ur spell shield with their blind they die. Ww and Morde- Rush qss and you will never lose to them even at post 6. Ww you can all in morde you have to pop qss after his ult and wait it out. Edit 1: Camille- Pta eclispe. This should allow you to always outtrade her early and get a lead. The shield is just too good into her and pta pretty much does more damage than her shield can take. And she isn't strong 1v1 into Noc even if he has pta so if she ever all ins she's free. Heimerdinger- This one is a skill match up. If u spell shield his bomb you likely will go 1 for 1. The only way to beat him is building Mr and even then he might still go 1 for 1. This is an even match up as you both will usually kill each other. Nasus- Ban. Although you can mess him up early and get a lead it won't matter. He will always outscale you and eventually you will never be able to side lane. Relying on team mates also can hurt you cause if they don't care you're just f__d. Illaoi- She's pretty easy. Go Lethal. Go Bork. Always w her tether. Kill. I like to bait it by attacking her tentacles. Never fight in her e. Of she is building damage you can go anathemas. But if she goes tank you will be destroyed with anathemas. But if she goes damage first anathemas makes the game easy. Even if she hits her tether you can wait it out. Quinn- Easy. W her leap. She dies. You can go any item. Akshan- a bit better than quinn and teemo. This guy can be hard to catch. I still tend to beat him tho. Eclispe seems to be the easiest item to start against him. Lethal tempo seems to work better too.

Yorick- tbh. A pretty easy match up. If his golem jump on you your passive one shots them making him useless pre 6. Once it's 6 I always wait until he cages then ult him. I always stomp him. Rushing Bork makes it a complete stomp. Akali- pta. Always stand behind the wave pre 6 so she can't just e you. If she walks up to q q her and proc pta. W her shuriken leap. It's her main source of damage. Never fight in her shroud. Anathemas is really good into her.

Garen fiora irelia jax cho sion aatrox- Bork. Lethal. Just too good of an item. W garen q. W fiora spell shield. W irelia stun. W jax e at the 2 second mark. W one of chos knock ups. W sion q. W aatrox third q. You do this and it isn't even close. Only Cho has the potential to outplay you. The rest just get ran down. If you really want to make sion lose his mind go pta and do short trades when your w is up. He will never get a q off. Jayce- Eclispe. Pta or Lethal. W his knockback when he leaps in you know it's coming. If he waits to long your e will fear him and even if he knocks u back you speed there instantly from the fear bonus. Once you hit 6 he just dies all the time if you want to use ur ult on him. Diana- If you do find this match up come up go pta or hobs. I don't play against her too often so its hard to know what to shield for the most optimization. But I found her burst beats out my lethal. But I stomp her with short trades of pta or hobs.

I climbed to diamond with Nocturne top. I have a 56% win rate and I never lose lane with him. It's interesting when you say certain champs are hard for Nocturne when I've always found them easy. I had a Casso top a few times and I've always stomped her. I can see how she'd be hard in mid where the lane is a lot smaller and she can poke you for free and get away but in top as long as ur wave management is decent you should be able to run her down with ease as I do. Having here always pushing towards you makes her relatively easy. I even have fought her in a big wave and won. I don't see how she's hard to be honest. Ur q is spammable and you should always be able to catch her and run her down when the waves on ur side.
