To download an mp3 file of the accompaniment, go to www.steveparkhornmusic.net. This is a beautiful, romantic recital piece. I recorded it three times from different camera angles and then edited the videos together. I also videod my "accompanist" so you could watch that instead of watching me stand there. Let me know what you think. Subscribe! I will be adding more solos on a regular basis. I teach horn at a University and my goal is to create a video library of some of the best horn solos for my students and others. Also let me know if there is something you would like me to record. If you would like an mp3 file of the accompaniment, send me your email address and I will send you the file.

I do a lot of slurred exercises when I practice. You have to keep the air moving and then change your embouchure very quickly. You will also notice that I move my jaw open and closed as I go from low to high or high to low. The mouthpiece pressure remains constant.

Earlier this year, I commented on this video and you gave me some pointers on this solo and sent me the piano mp3 to help me practice. It really helped me perfect the piece and get it sounding really well. Not only did it help me get top chairs in multiple regional and state honor bands, It also helped me get a scholarship for college (music education major). Thank you so much for the advice and the help with the piece, it really paid off.

Ben GS dude, if you are doing this as your solo (3 years ago) I hope you knew that this was not very good, sure all notes were right, but his interpretation was so far from the original with so many ritards, his slurs were also very messy, it’s so much slower then intended. I really hope you didn’t use this interpretation as your inspiration

@@rilke1791 way to crap all over a beautiful and inspirational recording with your all-knowing and all-mighty opinion. I don't care what title you have, just because someone doesn't play something exactly like the original doesn't make their interpretation "not good".Music is supposed to be expressive, whether that is expressing their emotions or someone else's isn't your decision to make. It's fine for you to not like how he interpreted the music, just keep it to yourself. let the viewer decide if they like how he plays it or not.

What a beautifully lyrical instrument. This piece was written by a hornist who knew how to show off its best characteristics...along with the skill of the performer. The accompanist wasn't much to look at though. I suppose musical competence will have to suffice. I'd love to have a copy of the sheet music transposed for euphonium. Not that I'm even close to the necissary skill level but perhaps the magic would rub off onto the clunkers in my binder that I can hack my way through. Thanks for posting this lovely music professor Park.
