What could be done that it joins messages only if the first message has a certain payload?

I looked at it and it doesn't seem that you can do it. I would try detecting the first message in a function node and then passing i to the join node. rgds steve

@@stevecope , thanks for your fast reply. I was actually working on that, too, and now trying to see if I can save the values with the "context" function

@@stevecope, in the end it turned out that with flow.set and flow.get in functions I was able to reliably join the two messages. Interestingly, I used one of your other tutorials to understand better how to do that. Thanks a lot!
