I was having trouble with turning low voltage LED lights off - I would get a flicker. I still had issues after applying your solution above. Spent some time trying debug this code for my purposes. After many flashes and serial prints, I just decided to re-write it. I am using an ESP-12F D1 so that is how my pin assignments are set. If you interested github.com/no-bull/homeassistant/tree/master/LightDimmer. Note: when using the Serial.parseInt() the val immediately gets set back to zero. I initially thought it was because the variable was declared in the sub. I tried to declare it during initialization but had the same result. My solution was to use -1 to turn the light off.

Since you're using PWM so only one device can be dimmed as esp8266 has only one pwm pin and that too it's a software pwm, so if there's congestion in the network traffic, it would respond slowly . esp32 has 8 dedicated hardware PWM pins, you may like using it.

Kashyap Mehta Make sure you are using dimmable bulb. I tested it with 110v 60Hz with a dimmable LED bulb.

Greetings and thanks for a nice video. I bought a module and started testing. I found that PWM signal control has problems with a standard 60W bulb. At more than 10% dimming, the output PWM signal disintegrates to a pure sine, so it climbs 100%. Without a light bulb it works well. Tested by oscilloscope. I ask the author whether he can confirm this phenomenon and possibly modify the code. The original robotdyn code with only gliding signal over cross zero works with the bulb, but I am not able to implement it :-( Thanks.

There are two functions in the .ino file that you can put this in front of them and it works on later version. It tells the compiler to keep the ISR function in memory and is required for ESP core 2.5.1 and later. ICACHE_RAM_ATTR example: ICACHE_RAM_ATTR void dimTimerISR() { Or downgrade ESP firmware in Arduino IDE to 2.4 -Good Luck

Extra info: I dont have the problem with an ELV dimmer. It's silent. The lights are 3x 4,5W Spot Led lights (Philips Shellbark) connected to one led driver.

You always have to power the ESP trough 5V (trough a small transformer for example). The ac dimmer is powered by the 3.3V output pin of ESP or any 3v or 5V connection

I had tried tried serial dimming as shown in the tutorial. Then it worked out just fine.. But now i want to do the same. But its not working. The code compiles without any error. I also copied the whole code from your Github page. And also the library as well. But its not responding. I double checked the dimmer circuit as well and its working fine. htnaahsarP iaS Dimmer requires 2 GPIOs per module. You can control 6 dimmers with one NodeMcu. Good luck.

You can try that. It may work since it is the same cycle for ZC. I am not sure about the number of timers we can run at the same time. I may try to test this out soon.
