This episodes is one of my very vivid childhood memories and haven't seen it since it was broadcast in 1993. It's exactly how I remember. Classic Saturday Night TV!

Love watching this. I remember watching this live on the day, had tears of joy. This was the only gotcha oscar that Noel got without being gunged. Whoever posted this, thank you for a wonderful memory.

This is the way NHP should best be remembered. Really funny stuff in those early days. Great prank. XD

I loved this show and remember this very clearly. Very happy memories of time with family, some sadly no longer with us. Thank you!

I love how horrified he is every time he sees that there's yet another cue card. He's clearly mortified sitting there!

This kind of show with its massive audiences was something of a dying breed and noel was clashing with the executives. His time at the BBC was coming to an end. He had been on the air for 40 years with the BBC. He was also fighting the bank who bankrolled his company and his divorce was a bitter one.

Absolutely brilliant - thanks for uploading it. Wanted to see this again for years, completely forgot that the Gotcha guests appeared.

Proper 90s tv, this was Saturday night tv at it best, weekend tv was better, instead of the reality rubbish now, and singing and dancing shows

I'd have bought Noel flowers. I miss sering Noel, he was such a brilliantly talented fun loving giggler. Come back home Noel, England needs you

Simpler, happier and generally nicer times in 1993. Wish we were still there. Thanks for uploading it.

i kinda get the feeling, the british people were happier back in the 90s

Yes we were! People were more closer together & freindly. We talked face to face on house phones & sent postcards instead of relying on mobiles & internet. The days when you actually invited the postman milkman plumbers handymen & other hard workers in for a freindly chat & a tea or coffee instead of breif & non existent encounters with them

They should put Noals HP on GOLD or Watch or somthing make a change to endless repeats Of Fools and Horses. Another thought, I always suspected the pranks on Noal where scripted and done with his prior knowledge. I remember watching on the news during NHP's heyday that a channel 4 show did a Gotcha style prank on Noal and he got very anry and refused to let it go on air.

Don't know for sure but at a guess Noel always liked to be informed of what was going on behind the scenes.

No it's not - it was a good few episodes before the end, so Noel would be not be expecting it at all! When he says "is it really the end of the series" he's joking as that would be the norm...

Shame what happened to the show. The BBC got carried away with its success and extended the usual 12 episodes to alot more, killing it off as it ran out of steam.

Maybe if Noel sent member of the public Laura Gold flowers when she ended up injured after falling badly during a comedy toilet setpiece on the show in 1998, his show might not have had the karma of ending a year later. Despite a Noel Edmonds show once resulting in the death of Michael Lush in a bungee rope stunt, leapords don't completely change spots - it took the BBC four years to admit liability to Laura Gold.

Out of interest, did we ever see the person in the Mr Blobby costume on any other occasion in Noel's House Party?
@JonathanGymAddict5 жыл бұрын
I think only when it was Noel himself inside doing the Gotchas on famous celebs.
@cartmanskittykat2197 Жыл бұрын
Yes, his name was Barry. Edmonds would take over when he was close to the gotcha reveal. I think you see Barry inside on the Will Carling and Wayne Sleep gotcha. Lol I used to own the Mr. Blobby VHS and my sister and brother and I would religiously watch it every Christmas. 😂

Remember this. Was one of the better NHP finales before Noel had a fit and it went too scripted.
