I like how you work with comfort in sculpting while talking at the same time. I just started blender 2 weeks ago, and so far going well in learning the editing tools, haven't touched any sculpting/character modeling yet. any advice?

Understanding the basics is the most important thing. Make sure that you're comfortable with the standard editing tools and when you learn sculpting, make sure to understand all the standard brushes. Do small sculpts to get comfortable with the workflow, experiment and have fun. Oh, and don't focus on details at all. At least not in the beginning. It's tempting, but you really don't need them for great sculpts. :)
